5 tips on starting an Instagram account
If you are starting your own business or working on a side hustle, you know that social media is important.
To some people, social media comes naturally, to others it can be overwhelming. There’s a ton of content out there so how do you stand out?
Here are 5 easy tips on how to get started:
✨ Write. It. Down.
It’s important to have content. So when you are first starting your business or project, write down everything. Start a google doc or a word doc and write down your vision, mission, why statement, what & how. You are telling a story. So make sure you have content to look back to.
✨ Take high quality photos.
If I’ve learned anything from being on social media, it’s that the look matters. Give your followers a reason to stop scrolling. Your image needs to stand out. I use the free version of Adobe Lightroom to edit all my photos and get presets from the Lightroom Presets App. Both are available on the App Store.
✨ Create your own graphics.
Create sharable content with your IG handle on it! You can use websites like Canva to create custom templates that match your brand and have your name on it. That way when people share, it’s free publicity. You can provide business tips or even quotes that make your story stand out.
✨ Call to action.
