KISS: keep it stupid simple // that's the motto.
In my last post, I talked a bit on my goal for the year being all about simplicity and I didn't intend to - it just came out, and that's fine.
I'll use this post to mention some other things that I haven't yet. Things that played a part in making this decision as my theme for the year.
For starters, it's always been the goal. Make it simple, cancel the noise, stop over-thinking, stop trying to make everything perfect, have FUN, do what you love, love what you do, help other people achieve the same.
So I've done some things, listened to some things, pondered some things, changed some things - that led me here.
Last year, I stumbled on and started a program regarding procrastination. It's been life changing for me, I recommend it to everyone.
This year, with , we're working with .feltner to provide a series of coaching sessions. Now, she's a Hairstylist Coach & Salon Consultant, but these are great for all beauty professionals and beyond.
The first session was: Clarity in Your Career.
What I've learned, through my procrastination program and the first session with Tammy, is that perfection is a huuuge road block for me. I want to do it perfect or not at all. I do NOT want to fail. Even though I knowww failure is inevitable and part of the process; a positive even. And as far as I can tell, perfection is my failure. I've not said that until now. Feels good to have that realization.
In this first session with Tammy, we talked about taking a word and replacing it, so to speak. So if perfection is my word, we'd say we're focusing on [blank] over perfection this year. As soon as we got off the call it hit me - ACTION over perfection is what I need.
And to do that, I'm going to keep it super freakin simple, be exactly who I am, and trust my gut. No more perfection, no more over thinking.
Sorry guys, I know you were all in awe of my constant perfection. 😂
