What a sad day. We went out to do evening chores and found our lovely big Holstein dead in the pasture. She was with calf, so we lost them both. 😢 She seemed fine this morning.

Well, it's been an interesting Christmas season. Spent some time in hospital following a minor "cardiac event", came home Christmas night in time for my daughter to put down our only milking cow after she'd gone down for the 2nd time and we couldn't get her up even with vet intervention. Nevertheless our faith stands and our motto proves true -- together we achieve more. Our team stood strong through everything, pulling together to take care of the kids, the critters and the Memaw. We gratefully march into the New Year. We've heard of so many family, friends and acquaintances who've lost loved ones this month. Keeping you all in prayer and wishing you a powerful and peaceful 2025.

This beautiful boy (the goat, not the grandson) is looking for a new home. Sable/Boer cross, weighed in at 127 lbs at the NEWA Fair in August, but he's put on some weight since then. He was 3 weeks too old for market at the fair, but he needs to move on to someone else's pasture, or freezer. Handles well. PM for details

What a weekend! Hydrant broke, spewing water up out of the ground like Beverly Hillbillies fondest dream, started digging out and realized the pipe had broken back along the supply line, missed my friend's wedding because we were still hip-deep in mud. Yesterday, woke up to a dead heifer in the pasture, half eaten by some not-so-friendly feline visitor. Thanking God for a large family of hard workers. Watch your critters! (We're on E Jump Off).
