It's amazing to see the logo I designed for The 1899 Cafe brought to life on their signage! It fits perfectly with the Victorian aesthetic they're going for and helps honor the building's original design and historic charm. Can't wait for everyone to see it in person!

So excited for their official opening this Saturday!

And most importantly, I can't wait for everyone to enjoy their favorite coffee drinks in Milbridge, Maine!

✨ ONLY TWO DAYS ✨

The signs are up, the final touches are coming together, and we’re just TWO days away from opening!

Saturday can’t come soon enough!

My latest challenge: to create a logo for Chickadee Audiology, LLC, a mobile audiology business. My goal was to do this without following the traditional path of incorporating an ear or a hearing aid into the logo. This project is a perfect example of how much thought goes into designing an original logo.

Almost every logo mark you see in the world tells a story about the brand. Sometimes the story is obvious to the viewer, and sometimes it's not, but the meaning is always there. This is how brands/services become memorable and instantly recognizable in their industry!

Here is my rationale for the logo I designed for Chickadee Audiology:

This logo concept was inspired by the lamb’s ear plant, known for its softness, comfort, and calming qualities. Instead of using the traditional human ear symbol often seen in audiology branding, the design takes a more organic and approachable direction through floral-inspired forms that feel nurturing and welcoming.

At the center, the chickadee represents communication, familiarity, and human connection, reflecting the emotional impact of hearing care and staying connected to everyday life. The circular composition also symbolizes movement and mobility, subtly referencing Chickadee Audiology’s mobile service model.

Overall, the logo is designed to feel compassionate, modern, and
experience-focused while helping the brand stand apart from more clinical
healthcare aesthetics.

So much of what I do as a brand strategist/brand designer is research based. I absolutely love it! I learn so much about small business owners in so many different industries. That’s what I love about being a graphic designer. It’s never ever ever the same thing on any given day!

Looking forward to my client's business grand opening in June! The 1899 Cafe is a must-visit this summer! Located in the beautiful, quaint town of Milbridge, Maine. This location is one of Maine's hidden gems for sure!

Still a little quiet…but not for long.☕️

It’s starting to feel like home here and we can’t wait to open our doors!

Can you picture your morning here?

What’s involved in a brand strategy session? This is a question I get from business owners all the time.

A brand strategy session involves many questions, conversation, brainstorming, writing things down, scribbling things out, and rewriting until we get to the bottom of what makes your business truly unique.

We aren’t just picking colors; we are:
✨ Defining your purpose.
✨ Finding your voice.
✨ Mapping out a visual identity that speaks directly to your ideal client.

The goal? Making sure they are attracted to you and can find you in this noisy digital world we live in!

My motto is: Strategy first, design later.

I’m currently opening my calendar to new clients! If you’re ready to stop second-guessing your brand and start showing up with total confidence, I’d love to help.

When this project is complete, I truly believe that it will be the most perfect example of the saying "all good things come to those who wait." My design clients are working hard to bring their dream of a cafe/community center to life in the heart of beautiful Milbridge, Maine, while I work behind the scenes to develop their branding. I am a little late sharing these photos from early last summer, but I thought you could use these photos now to lift you up and remind you that summer will be here again before you know it. And as those lupines perk up again, so will this old Victorian home when the cafe finally opens its doors to the public. There is no exact opening date yet, due to circumstances beyond anyone's control (waiting on contractors and such), but I know it will be worth the wait!
