Most founders think growth readiness is about access: more talent, more leads, more opportunity.
It is not. It is about throughput.
If the process that turns a signed client into delivered value lives only in your head, your business is not ready to take on more, no matter how good the opportunity looks. The new client gets onboarded differently than the last one. The new hire spends six weeks guessing. You become the load-bearing patch in every gap, and that is exactly why the business has stayed where it is.
Here is a 60-second test. Picture three new clients signing in the same week instead of one. Walk each step and ask who does what, and when. The moment your answer is "I would handle that," you just found your constraint.
Fix that step before you add volume to it.
How many days does it take a new client in your business to go from signed to first delivered value? If you have to guess, that is the answer.
