Last week, AuthentiCiTY presented at the “Gathering” in Historic Camden SC, a day of networking, collaboration and learning that brought together two delegates from 39 of the 46 South Carolina Counties. This room of passionate people are tasked with telling the story of South Carolina’s role in the American Revolution leading up to the commemoration of 250 years of American Independence. Our role is to support their efforts by helping them develop brand and marketing strategies that can leverage Heritage Tourism as a tool for civic and economic engagement.

Did you know that the Town of Norway SC and The Town of Ridge Spring, SC are joining the state’s Main Street network to help transform their historic downtowns?

Through a series of 6️⃣ monthly workshops, Norway and Ridge Spring will establish key, market-driven strategies to support and strengthen their downtown districts.

A Main Street team has been coordinated by Main Street South Carolina, the state’s grassroots economic development program. Main Street SC has been helping revitalize historic downtowns for over 4️⃣0️⃣ years, working with cities and towns that share both a commitment to place and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. Main Street SC is a technical assistance program of the Municipal Association of South Carolina.

This workshop series is being facilitated alongside the SC Broadband Office's competitive grant program which is supporting the joint installation of over 70 miles of fiber to Norway and Ridge Spring. With the goal of eliminating the digital divide in SC, these two rural communities will be dramatically transformed.
