Let me reintroduce myself to those who are new to the feed — I’m Kari Arns.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve spent the last 20+ years working as a designer, illustrator, animator, website creator, and content strategist across industries including hospitality, wine, higher education, and healthcare.

I love helping businesses tell their story through thoughtful branding, websites, social media content creation, and visual design that feels authentic to who they are.

Outside of work, I’m a belly dancer, traveler, gardener, mother, and someone who loves spending time with family and finding creativity in everyday life.

Thanks for being here and supporting my creative journey.

There’s something really satisfying about finally harvesting strawberries after weeks of watering, weeding, waiting, and hoping they’d actually grow. 🍓

This weekend turned into homemade rhubarb-strawberry crisp from the backyard garden, and it reminded me how much gardening feels like building a business.

You don’t plant something one day and see results the next. Whether it’s a garden, a logo, or a website, the best outcomes come from consistency, patience, and putting in the work long before anyone sees the final result.

Good things take time to grow.

If your business is ready for a fresh season of growth, I’d love to help you cultivate a brand and website that’s built to last. DM Arns Design or contact https://www.kariarnsdesign.com for a free consultation.

Happy Caturday! 🐾

Chai and Orion have officially clocked in for their very important office duties today: supervising, loafing, and occasionally judging my productivity.

Chai is posted up like a quiet little executive in charge of morale, while Orion is taking the “spread out across maximum surface area” approach to leadership.

Not much work is getting done… but the vibe is excellent.

Hope your Saturday is just as productive (or just as restful). 😸

Bold, fleeting, and impossible to ignore ❤️🌺

Red Oriental poppies are one of nature’s most dramatic blooms—opening with crinkled, paper-like petals and creating a show that feels both wild and elegant. Their brilliant color and sculptural form make them a favorite in cottage gardens and natural landscape design.

Poppies have a long and fascinating history dating back thousands of years. They’ve appeared in ancient cultures across Europe, Asia, and the Mediterranean and have symbolized everything from remembrance and peace to beauty, renewal, and resilience. Oriental poppies, in particular, originated in regions of western Asia and have been cultivated for generations for their striking blooms and ability to return year after year.

One of my favorite things about poppies is that their season is brief—which somehow makes them even more special. A reminder to enjoy beauty while it’s here.

Nature always knows how to make a statement. 🌿

I’m so excited to finally share this project!

My dear friend, Jessica Harvey, is starting her very own pet grooming business in Waitsburg, WA—and opening day is May 14. Watching her bring this dream to life has been so special, and I had the absolute privilege of designing her logo to help tell the story of her brand from the very beginning.

If you’re local (or nearby), she’s now booking appointments—give her a call at 509-386-3763 to get your furry friends scheduled. You’re going to love the care and attention she brings to every pet.

There’s something really meaningful about helping small businesses get started—especially when it’s someone you know and believe in.

If you’re thinking about starting a new business or refreshing your current one and need help with a logo, marketing materials, or a new website, I’d love to work with you. You can learn more at www.kariarnsdesign.com or send me a DM to get started.

Today is Mother’s Day.

Last night felt like a beautiful way to step into it.

In celebration of the season, my husband and I made it a date night and went to watch the balloons take off during an impromptu launch of the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede. Seeing them rise quietly into the evening sky was peaceful and awe-inspiring—a true gift of beauty, color, and flight unfolding right before us.

There’s something about moments like that that fits so perfectly with Mother's Day—a reminder of presence, appreciation, and the simple wonder found in shared experiences.

Grateful for community, for love, and for slowing down long enough to take it all in.

Happy Mother's Day!
