,
For more than two years, Wheaton’s business community has been clear: Parking Lot District rates, especially meter enforcement until 10:00 PM, are impacting our local economy, small businesses, and the overall visitor experience.

After sustained conversations with business owners, residents, community leaders, and County staff, they now have concrete parking options ready for public review.

This is more than a parking conversation, it’s about the future of Wheaton’s vitality.

If you live here, work here, own a business here, or visit Wheaton to shop, dine, worship, or connect with the community, your voice matters.

Your choice will help shape how accessible, welcoming, and economically vibrant Wheaton remains in the years ahead.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share it with your neighbors, colleagues, customers, and networks. You can scan the QR code or find the link below.

When our community shows up, we build solutions that work for everyone.

Leadership is about using your voice and protecting the voices of others.

Last week, four Black journalists, Georgia Fort, Trahern Crews, Jamael Lydell Lundy, and Don Lemmon, were arrested while doing their jobs. That’s not a coincidence. It’s a reminder that for many, even the act of telling the truth comes at a cost.

Freedom of the press is a fundamental right. And yet, when Black journalists are disproportionately targeted, it raises deeper questions about whose voices are protected and whose are silenced.

As leaders, we have a responsibility to call this out and lean in. Because of how we use our platforms, how we respond to injustice says just as much as the work we do day to day.

At TBG Strategies, we believe in protecting space for truth, equity, and community voice. We believe media should reflect the people it serves. And we believe silence in moments like this is not an option.

We stand with these journalists. We stand for the right to speak.

I’ve been paying close attention to what’s unfolding around us here at home the uncertainty, the fear, the frustration, the grief. None of it exists in a vacuum. I don’t believe in separating what’s happening in the world from how we show up for one another. Ignoring the moment we’re in doesn’t make it disappear; it just creates distance.

Right now, leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about presence. It’s about empathy, steadiness, and finding ways big or small to support and engage wherever you can. It means sharing resources, creating space for conversation, and helping people feel seen and connected.

Today, I met with folks in my urban district to talk about the possibility of organizing a town hall. It was a reminder that people need to know they are not alone and that simply coming together, listening, and standing with one another matters more than ever.

Friday Sign-Off: First Week of 2026
Closing out the first week of 2026, feeling grounded and focused.

This week was about easing into the year, revisiting goals, and beginning the work with intention, not urgency. Progress doesn’t have to be rushed to be meaningful. Here’s to honoring the pace, building momentum thoughtfully, and carrying that clarity into the weeks ahead.

Wishing everyone a restorative weekend.

First Week of 2026
Midway through the first week of 2026, and I’m easing back into the rhythm reconnecting, planning, and beginning to activate the goals I set for the year.

What I’m embracing most is pace.
Everything doesn’t need to happen at once. Thoughtful steps still move us forward.

Here’s to starting strong, staying intentional, and giving ourselves the space to build momentum the right way.

As this year comes to a close, I’m proud of the work we’ve done at TBG Strategies.

This year reminded me that impact starts with listening to data, to communities, and to the people we’re trying to reach.

A few lessons that stood out:
• Strategy works best when culture is centered
• Technology needs human insight
• Trust is built through consistency

Grateful for our clients, partners, and the TBG team for doing work that truly matters.

We’re closing the year focused and ready for what’s next.

Friday Reflections: Countdown to the Holidays and the Work That Still Inspires Us

As we head into the final weeks of the year, I’m reminded of how powerful this season can be for reflection, not just personally, but also organizationally. At TBG Strategies, this time of year reinforces why our work matters, helping mission-driven organizations elevate their value, strengthen community connection and create meaningful impact through strategic, insight-driven communication.

While many are counting down to the holidays, we’re also celebrating the incredible partners who allow us to do what we do best, from shaping narratives that shift perceptions to building campaigns that drive real behavior change. Every engagement teaches us something new about the people we serve and the diverse communities at the center of our work. That continuous learning fuels our ability to create campaigns that are authentic, inclusive, and powerful.

This season reminds me that leadership is equal parts helping and listening. It's about showing up with intention, being open to new insights, and ensuring that the work we deliver makes a difference that lasts long beyond the holiday season.

Wishing everyone a Friday filled with gratitude, growth, and meaningful moments as we close out the year with purpose.
