It's and I've had the honor of telling the stories of over a dozen adults on the autism spectrum from across the country. The greatness of a society can be measured by how it cares for its most vulnerable. From what I have seen and heard, we have work to do.

The adults I've had the chance to meet who have the best outcomes have one thing in common: a strong, supportive community that recognizes the inherent value they have to add to the world. And isn't that something we all could use?

Zach is the youngest the Beytien's three boys with autism, and the most severely impacted. Their story sheds light on how inadequate our systems are in protecting the well-being of those who need extra help to order to live a full life of inclusion within our communities. It was an honor to be entrusted with the telling of their story.

Andrew is only partially verbal, but he understands everything that is going on. He let me follow him around for a couple days so that I could get a glimpse into his life. At the beginning, he was a little unsure about me. But on our last day together he took my hand asked me if I when I would be coming back- I knew it was a moment acceptance and love. It was a privilege to meet Andrew.

I hope to share more on Andrew later on. He's got a wonderful family and great job with coworkers who value him. Still, lack of options place limits on the kind of life Andrew and others could live.

Consider sharing for and check out the other mini-docs in the series!

David the Cartoonist and his family were so welcoming. They are the type of people who instantly make you feel apart of the family.

They are a part of an inspiring community that is still developing. The future holds so much possibility for them as long as we, in our communities and in our country, lend support to those who need a little special care and attention.

Imagine what the world could look like if all our communities were ones that valued the well-being of those who are too often pushed into the margins. When we create a society that lifts up the voiceless, we create a society that is healthier for all of us.

It's Autism Awareness Month, and this is the second of 10 shorts that Madison House has commissioned to bring attention to the lives of adults with autism. I've made so many great friends and feel honored to be entrusted with their stories. Consider sharing one, two, or all of them as they are released for Autism Awareness!

Some of you may know that I've been working on a mini-documentary series on adults with autism. They will be released throughout the month (autism awareness month). It has been so wonderful to meet all the people I've been able to visit with and befriend over the course of this project.

This population often gets left behind when we talk about creating inclusive, diverse communities. Our friends with autism have so much value to add and things to teach us. I believe that if we create a society that ensures the success and well-being of these individuals, we will have created one that honors the inherent dignity in all human beings.

The first one was released today, check it out and share the films!

One of my recent projects allowed me to speak with and observe adults with autism as they were guided through the complexity of air travel. It was honestly such a treat to get to know Amelia, Layla, Rachel, and their parents/caregivers.

Autism is a life-long characteristic. There is no cure. 1/68 children today will be diagnosed on the spectrum. And we know that when provided with the right tools and the right environment, these individuals can and do thrive.

When we make the world a safe place for these humans, we make it a safer place for all humans. We need to dedicate more resources and more attention to this "invisible disability."

It was so great to be able to work with all the good people at Nuzzles & Co to create this brand anthem video for the launch of their new name (formerly known as Furburbia). They really do amazing work and make a big difference in the lives of the animals they rescue, and in the lives of those who adopt these animals.

This is the story of Nuzzles & Co Rescue Ranch and Pet Adoption Center in Park City, Utah. nuzzlesandco.org
