Waukee Veteran's Memorial The Waukee Leadership Institute Class of 2017 is creating a Waukee Veteran's Memorial. As you know, the Waukee area is built on community values.

Each year, the Waukee Leadership Institute class undertakes a community-wide project to benefit area residents and businesses. This year, the Waukee Leadership Institute Class of 2017 has selected to build a Veterans Memorial at the Waukee Community Center, which will honor each branch of service, all service members and their families, and our local law enforcements officers and emergency respond

ers. This wouldn’t be possible without our local heroes that have served to protect. Our goal for this year’s project is to show our gratitude for all that have served over the years. We’re looking for support from our local residents, businesses, elected officials, and community organizations. We appreciate any support that you are willing and able to provide as we initiate a project that we know will continue to honor our local heroes in a lasting way. In our efforts to make this project a great success for our veterans and our community, we are looking for support in the following ways:
1.Memorial Donations
•Bronze: All donations of $25- $999 will be recognized at all of our events
•Gold: All donations of $1,000 or more will get placed on our donors’ plaque at the Waukee Community Center
2.Fundraising event hosting and support
3.Marketing and media support for our project and event(s)
4.Catering, floral, and other event support

The Waukee Veterans Memorial was officially revealed to the public on Thursday, June 22, 2017. Monuments were placed outside of the Waukee Community Center as a project by the Waukee Leadership Institute's Class of 2017.

Wonderful turnout for the unveiling of the 2017 WLI Institute Veterans Memorial at the Waukee Community Center. There are pillars dedicated or all branches of the military as well as Waukee Fine and Police Departments. This is a must see Memorial. Beautiful pillars. Thank you Veterans!!

Join the Waukee Leadership Institute on Thursday, June 22 to celebrate the Waukee Veterans Memorial! The ceremony will start at 5:00 p.m. at the Waukee Community Center with opening remarks, followed by the Honor Guard Salute, National Anthem, and Ribbon Cutting!
