There are a lot of Cannabis Business owners who don't really get the value of brand work.

That's where mockups can come in handy.

Taking the time to visualize how the different elements of your brand can look in the real world is essential to understanding the importance of strong branding.

Not every point of contact is going to make it into a mock-up. Sometimes mock-up's even highlight areas of improvement for a design.

Brand Design is where all the hard work pays off.

Using the information we gathered and the questions we answered in the previous phase, we make calculated decisions about typography, color palettes, and other design elements.

The Typography we chose for this has two main components:

1. It's a serif font (it has "caps" on the ends like a news paper type). Serif fonts are know to be trustworthy and knowledgeable.

2. It is just funky enough to feel Airy and Playful, but still easily readable.

Blue is trustworthy and dependable, and when combined with the Typography choices, helps build trust with customers before they even get in the basket.

Brand Discovery helps us answer all the Who, What, When, Where, and Why's.

Who- We are Crown Air, and we provide services to National park tourists.

What- We fly hot air balloons over the parks and give educational tours.

When- peak months are during spring and fall, with special reservations available weather permitting.

Where- Top US National Parks.

Why- To help people recognize the beauty of nature, how it works, and why it's important to preserve and regenerate it.

These basic questions, when combined with careful research into competitors and your target audience, create the framework of your brand.

As you know we have started working through Harris Roberts to help improve our Branding Skills and try out new ideas.

This prompt was for a Hot Air Balloon Logo.

Most small business owners, especially here in the Oklahoma C*nnabis Market, start their "brands" with a logo they designed or commissioned and have a decent grasp of their color palette.

But a Brand is so much MORE THAN THAT. Your branding is the way that you customers see and build trust with your business.

When you take time to be clear about your expectations, your competition, and your goals, you can develop a brand that is perfectly tailored to your business.

That means EVERY. SINGLE. TOUCHPOINT. between your brand and your target audience will have the same core elements and voice.

This over time will build trust with your customers and Trust = Sale.

Starting this week off, we did some brainstorming and noticed we mostly think of those multi-colored hot-air balloons that you see everywhere when we think of hot air balloons.

This Logo has potential to be great, and some Brand Discovery and Research will help us really figure out what might need to go into either Refreshing this Brand or ReBranding it.

Adding a few quick mockups to showcase their new branding and really make the brand come to life.

A brand like this can have so many consumer touch points, all of which need to represent the brand.

The basics for any brand is to have branding on your business cards, consistency in branding and voice on your social medias, and a fully branded website to showcase your business. Everything else can come later.

Axis seemed like the kind of brand that would really benefit from a "for the people" campaign and t-shirts help get more people into the movement.

Other things would be like coffee mugs, and sending thank you notes with our custom patterns and fonts.

It also benefits you to take things like the logo and patterns for your brand and incorporate those elements into stationary and pamphlets you distribute. (something Axis would do a lot of to educate their customers).

This prompt was for a Rocket Logo.

The one thing most people have together in their minds when they come to us asking for branding is their logo. Even though that might not be the first step in the process for us, your business is important to you.

We like to take the logo and combine it with an intensive brand discovery process to help build out your perfect brand from voice to colors palettes.

To get this weeks project started we created a logo based purely off the prompt, using colors already associated with experts in the field.
