Although I love making art, I used to not consider myself artistic because I can’t freehand draw very well. When I found graphic design I was instantly drawn to it because I could finally use a computer to create what my hands couldn’t.

Well, some of you know how jazzed I am about my new monthly journal subscription. I kept it very basic in the beginning but it’s really helped me want to create with my hands again and I had a huge “aha” moment while setting up my June journal. I was wishing I could draw nice headers like I can design them in photoshop. Then it hit me. Why not just trace a font instead? 💡

So here’s how it turned out! I’m a stickler for centering and having clean lines when I create graphics so this is far from perfect but it’s a whole lot better than a blank page. Excited for my favorite month to begin 😍❤️

When you boot up your computer in the morning, what are the first programs you open? For me it's Slack, Chrome, OneNote, Toggl and Spotify 🎶

Self employed friends: do you use a time tracking tool? I have used a few but curious to know your favorites!

What comes to mind when you think of Spring? 🌿 For me, it's always how excited I get to see new little leaf buds forming on trees. One day they are just starting to peek out, and the next you see bright green every where you look ✨

Update time: I took a long hiatus from creating content for my brand and from taking on new clients as I adjusted to a new contract role as a virtual executive assistant in December. My career has been very fluid, and I'm so excited to be contributing to exciting new teams through project management, building online courses, and loads of graphic design. It's made me thankful that I've been so curious to learn so many skills throughout my life, and that I can keep applying them in new ways and also not be afraid to take on things I've never done before.

That being said, I really miss what I had just begun building with RJ Manifests, and I am pushing myself to get back to my plans and goals. I could be 100% happy without getting any new clients, but growing this business means much more to me than growing my revenue. My primary goal has always been to help others through my skills and knowledge. I envisioned building a small community, being there for people on their personal business journeys, and learning from them along the way. Manifestation comes from the heart and believing in the future before it happens - I don't need to profit off my brand in order to turn it into something impactful. And that feels amazing.

So, my plan is to expand on sharing the business and content creation knowledge I have. Instead of limiting my strategy to things tied to my services, I want to be able to share anything that has been inspiring me, whether that's my personal photography or a podcast that I listened to.

Oh, and for some big news, I finally went legit and registered RJ Manifests as an LLC. It feels so good to own this brand, and it definitely made me want to rethink how to purpose it. I honestly do not have time to take on new work - even if I love it - but that doesn't mean I should stop putting any energy into this page. It actually takes a lot of pressure off to leave the sales pitch at the door and just come with authentic content that I feel like sharing and don't have to strategize about.

I hope to cross paths with you soon ✨

Fresh video just went up on my YouTube channel!

Had a ton of fun revisiting these shots from the Decatur Waterworks Ruins in 2017. It's part of the South Peachtree Creek trail in Decatur, GA. If you love graffiti or abandoned places you should definitely go check it out. Art everywhere you look! My kind of place :)

Sharing some shots from a spontaneous day trip to New York City in September 2017 ✨

Wandering around a big city can bring you upon some of the most unexpected scenes. I wanted these edits to feel soft and relaxed, much like my mood that day.
