Part 4 – Your Elopement, Your Rules

Austin & Annalise’s day could’ve fit into a single whirlwind adventure, but they chose to stretch it out over two days. That’s the beauty of eloping -- you decide the pace, the places, and the people involved. Whether it’s courthouse steps and hotel champagne or mountaintop sunsets and campfire cuddles, your elopement can still feel like a grand event. The point is this: small doesn’t mean less. It means personal, intentional, and entirely YOURS.

Part 3 – Trade Aisles for Adventure

Two days later, we swapped city streets for state parks. Seneca Rocks, Spruce K**b Lake, and Spruce K**b Mountain became the backdrop for Austin + Annalise's portraits.
Imagine hiking in your wedding attire, renting a canoe, horseback riding through meadows or up mountains, or laying out a picnic with champagne and charcuterie. Some couples even stargaze at the summit or watch storms roll in together (which these two got to do, unintentionally). These aren’t just photo ops -- they’re memories you’ll talk about for decades.

Part 2 – Turn Everyday Spaces Into Magic

After Austin + Annalise's ceremony on the courthouse steps, we headed to WVU’s Stewart Hall for portraits, then up to a parking garage with their rented car for some cinematic shots. They grabbed a room at Hotel Morgan that night, shared champagne, and cut into a little cake, just the two of them.
That’s the beautiful thing about elopements: you can turn a mundane Monday into an unforgettable celebration. Whether it’s a rooftop toast, a picnic in the park, or wandering hand-in-hand downtown, you get to decide what’s meaningful to you!

Part 1.5 – The Courthouse is Just the Beginning

Your wedding day doesn’t have to mean ballrooms or 200 guests to feel monumental. Austin & Annalise rented a car from Appalachian Auto Museum, put on a tux and gown, walked into the local courthouse on a Monday morning, signed their papers, and stepped out onto the courthouse steps ready to begin their journey as husband and wife. With an officiant straight off the courthouse’s website and a handful of witnesses, their ceremony was intimate, stress-free, and still full of meaning.

I got to capture a super sweet proposal for Chris & Alexa the other evening! 🥰

Chris contacted me a few weeks ago to set the whole thing up during their stay at the beautiful Stonewall Resort. He knew he wanted to propose out on the boardwalk. And together, he and I came up with a plan. I roped my bestie into being my decoy model, complete with a bouquet, and pretended we were doing a photoshoot while he and Alexa walked along the boardwalk. Things got a little chaotic after he missed the marker I had placed for him to know where to stop and pop the question, but with a little communication on the sly (aka, hand signals being thrown behind Alexa’s back) we were able to get them to the right spot. 😂 I waited for Chris to give the signal that he was about to do it (a “salute” to shield the sun from his eyes) & the rest is history.

Big shout out to the sweet family who was walking our way and was very confused as to why my bestie and I were jumping and waving our arms in the air to get their attention to stop walking towards us as Chris was dropping down to one knee (😂😅) and everyone else out on the dock who stopped to tell them congratulations. ❤️
