It’s a wonderful day to read a book, particularly if you have a fireplace.
Here’s my pick for you — James Copple’s “The Seeker, Bring Me the Horizon.”
Check out Seeker: Forging Our Legacy for info about his book, blog, vlog and podcast.
Good stuff here that moves the needle toward the world we should all want. Wichita residents: Jim has a rich history in our city fighting gang violence.
Plus he’s worked with Obama and so. many. other. presidents. He's met 13 presidents and worked with seven, including serving as facilitator of President Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing. So on this frigid Presidents Day, maybe order and crack open this book.

I've got my writing station all set up for First Friday's "Let There Be Lite-Brite" show that I've organized at The District on Commerce.
I'll be live-writing three-paragraph fiction for $10 on this IBM Selectric I picked up a few weeks ago at an estate sale.
Just approach me, and I'll take one look at you and write somethin' up.
The fabulous Jo Anne Lofland has graciously agreed to be my official helper.
The show is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Friday at 420 S. Commerce.

I started Word Scout Communications Solutions last year to help nonprofits and small businesses with needs such as news releases, website content, print collateral, media relations, writing, editing and public relations. Nonprofits often can’t afford an in-house communications director, so that’s where I come in — as a contractor.
I charge less than half of what full-service agencies I’m also available for grant writing.
Things were going gangbusters for a while.
