A “free website in one day” sounds amazing…
until you reach the end and realize the “free” part comes with strings.
Recently, I checked out one of those ads claiming you can get a website for free, fast, unlimited, guaranteed, all the glittery little words people love to see.
Then, after entering the information, the catch appeared:
Share their company on Facebook to continue.
Now let’s talk about that for a second.
If I have spent years building my page, my audience, my credibility, and my trust, why would I hand over access to my reputation by promoting a company I have not worked with, cannot verify properly, and do not fully understand?
That is not “free.”
That is using your audience as payment.
And here is the part most people miss:
Before you enter your information, ask these questions:
Who owns the website when it is done?
Who controls the hosting?
Can you move it later?
Is there a clear privacy policy?
Are they selling or sharing your information?
What happens after the “free” website is built?
Are you locked into their services?
Is it actually customized for your business, or just a quick template with your name dropped in?
A website is not just a pretty page.
It is your business address online.
It is your credibility.
It is your first impression.
It is where people decide whether they trust you or click away.
So when someone says, “Why would I pay for a website when I can get one free?” my answer is simple:
Because free can become expensive real fast when you do not own the foundation.
A real website should be built with your business in mind, not just thrown together in five minutes so someone can sell you hosting, collect your information, or use your audience for advertising.
Cheap is not always smart.
Free is not always free.
And your business deserves better than digital bait with a bow on it.
At MAS Creations, I do not sell mystery promises. I review what you actually have, explain what you actually need, and build with ownership, clarity, and long-term use in mind.
Your business deserves a website that works for you, not a trap dressed up as a gift.
