Search is changing pretty fast right now.

More and more people are getting answers directly from AI instead of scrolling through Google results. And that raises a big question for businesses - are you even showing up in those answers?

I wrote a quick breakdown of what’s happening and what it means for SEO.

If I’m being honest, most of the SEO work I do starts with the same conversation:

“Why aren’t we showing up?”

And the answer is almost never dramatic. It’s usually small gaps, missed signals, or content that doesn’t line up with how people are searching.

Once you see it, it’s fixable... and I love helping people see it.

This week my Phillies tickets showed up in the Ballpark app, which can only mean one thing - baseball is almost back.

It immediately took me back to 2018 when Charlie Manuel stopped by the 6abc newsroom. I remember walking up to him and saying, “Nice to meet you, Charlie. You’re responsible for one of the best days of my life.”

He smiled and said, “I had a lot of help.”

I had to dig through an old Facebook post to remember exactly what was said. The details faded. But what didn’t fade was how he made everyone feel that day. He was down to earth. Present. Cool as hell without trying to be.

Some people leave an impression because of what they accomplished. Others leave one because of how they carry themselves. Charlie did both.

Anyway… baseball’s coming back. And apparently so are the memories. ⚾️

Most businesses don’t need more reviews. They need a better process for asking.

The best time to request a review is when someone already feels helped, relieved, or grateful - not weeks later when the moment’s gone.

Small systems make a big difference here.

Online reviews aren’t just social proof. They’re a visibility tool.

Fresh, consistent reviews:

- Help with local rankings
- Increase click-through rates
- Set expectations before someone ever contacts you

Ignoring them doesn’t make them less important. It just gives up control.

Your social media doesn’t have to sell all the time.

Some of the best-performing posts:

- Share observations
- Educate lightly
- Reflect common frustrations
- Explain how things actually work

Trust builds before conversions ever happen.

I’ve learned this: Capture the small stuff.

Not just the big group photo.
The laugh.
The wipeout.
The quiet ride up the lift.
The run that makes you say “wow.”

Take a lot of little clips. You can sort it out later.

At the end of the experience, you’ll have something that brings it all back.

Social media doesn’t need to be constant to be effective. It needs to be consistent.

Showing up 2–3 times a week with clear, honest messaging beats posting daily with no direction.

People don’t need perfection. They need to recognize you.

If your content feels hard to create, that’s usually a strategy problem - not a creativity problem.

Most businesses already have:

- FAQs
- Sales conversations
- Client emails
- Real-world expertise

The strategy is just organizing it and putting it where people can find it.

A blog without a strategy is just a long journal entry.

Good content should:

- Answer a specific question
- Support a business goal
- Connect naturally to other pages on your site

When content works with SEO instead of against it, you stop guessing and start seeing results.

Local SEO is less mysterious than it sounds. It’s really about consistency:

- Same business info everywhere
- Clear services
- Clear locations
- Clear signals that you’re active and legit

Get those right, and Google starts to trust you.

Trust leads to visibility.

SEO isn’t about tricking Google. It’s about making it easy for the right people to find you when they’re already looking.

If your website answers real questions, uses clear language, and reflects how people actually search - you’re already ahead of most businesses.

The rest is just refinement.
