On July 3rd, after 9 years on the kidney transplant waiting list, I received a kidney transplant at the University of Michigan.
It’s hard to put into words what this moment means. After years of dialysis, appointments, uncertainty, and hope, I finally have this incredible opportunity because of the generosity of an organ donor and their family. I will be forever grateful.
Recovery has had a few unexpected bumps. I’m currently in the ICU, and my new kidney hasn’t started working yet. It’s something called delayed graft function, and while it’s fairly common, I’m asking for continued prayers that this new kidney wakes up and starts doing its job soon.
The good news is I’m feeling strong, walking the halls, staying positive, and surrounded by amazing friends, family, and one of the best transplant teams anyone could ask for.
If you’ve noticed things are a little quieter on the JTD Design Creatives page, this is why. ❤️
Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and for supporting not only my business but also me as a person. Your kindness has meant more than you know.
Storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. Today, I’m simply sharing a chapter of my own.
I can’t wait to get back to helping businesses and organizations tell their stories while continuing to write this beautiful new chapter of mine.
And if you have a moment… I’d appreciate one simple prayer:
Wake up, little kidney. 💚🙏
Thank you all for being part of this journey.
