Email marketing is the fastest, most cost-effective way to reach your customers when you're selling a product or service. This article will discuss types of email marketing platforms and tactics that are commonly used by marketers.
Here are some basic guidelines that every business should deliver in an email:
1. Why did they request it? What special offer/solution will they receive if they sign up or download right away? This is very important because it shows your customers that you are following them and you understand them as individuals. Showing this demonstrates that you pay attention to details and can tailor messages specifically for each individual customer's needs.
2. Better yet, tell them why they should open the email now. What are some of the key benefits that they will receive if they open it right away. Are there any unique special offers, discounts or freebies that you can provide for your customers?
3. In your greeting at the top of the email, don't forget to include an image to entice your customers to look further into your message (and if possible make it an eye-catching image!).
4. Make sure that you use a professional subject line in this area of the email – this is where 70% of people will judge the content before they decide to read on or not.
5. And finally, make sure that your email marketing message is a direct call to action and make it easy for the customer to follow your lead. Tell them exactly what you want them to do, do not leave it open for interpretation. If you want the customer to click on a link or key in a specific web address for a special offer, then tell them directly in the email and don't be afraid of being direct.
