Sometimes it’s nice to step back and reconnect with what great design is really about.

We recently came across this retrospective on Lella Vignelli and Massimo Vignelli from the German Design Council—and it really stuck with us.

Their philosophy around clarity, simplicity, and purpose feels just as relevant today as it did decades ago. A good reminder that strong design isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing the right things, thoughtfully.

In a time when AI can generate entire cityscapes in seconds, this exhibit at the Venice Biennale stopped us in our tracks—because it’s all done by hand.

Maps, architecture, politics, and power—rendered with nothing more than ink, patience, and vision. It’s a stunning reminder that creativity doesn’t always need code.
