It's finally here for you!!!

June 1st I'm launching The Swoonworthy Inner Circle, a Patreon membership for romance authors who want straight answers about their websites, their direct stores, and the marketing side of their author business. Without having to Google everything or hire someone every time a question comes up.

Three tier options at affordable prices!

Free (always): The first post of every month. A real taste of what's inside before you commit to anything.

$5/month: All four weekly posts, a monthly resource you can actually use, and full community access. Comes with a 7-day free trial.

$15/month: Everything above, plus a monthly feedback thread where I personally look at your actual website or store and tell you what I see. Your pages. Your specific situation. Not generic advice. Also comes with a 7-day free trial.

Founding pricing ($5 and $15 a month) closes June 30th. Start a trial before then, stay past it, and that rate is yours permanently.

If you've ever stared at your own website and thought you don't know if it's actually working, this is for you.

And if you want an early sneak peak inside comment "Author Help" below and i'll send you the link!

Do you hear those saxophones getting louder....

You could go viral tomorrow and still not sell books. Here's the uncomfortable truth nobody's talking about.

Social media reach is down across the board. Organic discovery is basically dead on most platforms. Romance authors are posting consistently and hearing crickets.

But here's the thing: even when it DOES work, even when a post blows up and sends a flood of readers to your website... what happens next?

If your site is slow, confusing, or doesn't immediately communicate your vibe, those readers bounce. The algorithm gave you a gift and your website fumbled it.

Social media is the hallway. Your website is the bookstore. If the bookstore is a mess, it doesn't matter how good the hallway looks.

This is why I always say: fix the foundation before you chase the traffic.

Your website should be doing the heavy lifting 24/7, converting curious visitors into readers who buy, sign up, and come back for the next book. That's not what most author websites are doing right now.

The authors who are actually growing in 2026 aren't the ones with the biggest followings. They're the ones with the strongest owned platforms: a website that converts, an email list that actually reaches people, and a brand that makes readers feel something the second they land on the page.

You own your website. You don't own your TikTok. Build accordingly.

That shocked feeling when you realize your website actually converts browsers into buyers? It's real.

But right now, you're launching a new book and sending all your hard-earned traffic straight to Amazon. Your Instagram says "link in bio." Your bio has a Linktree. Your Linktree sends them to Amazon.

And Amazon takes 30 to 65% of that sale.

You just spent weeks building hype and engaging with readers. Why give half your profit to a platform that doesn't even know your name?

Here is what a strategic book launch looks like.

You send readers to YOUR website. They see your new release, your backlist, and your series. They can buy direct so you keep 90 to 95% of the profit. Or they can click through to their preferred retailer.

Either way, they land on YOUR platform first. You capture their email. You control the experience. You own the relationship.

Amazon is a tool for discovery. Your website is your business.

If you are launching a book without a professional author website, you are leaving money on the table.

Ready to change that? Hit the link in my bio to book your Meet Cute call.

When the site goes live and you just have to sit with it for a minute.

Elizabeth Dear writes the kind of romance that stays with you, so her website had to do the same thing. Warm, immersive, and built to feel like an invitation into her world the second you land on it.

We designed her mobile experience to move the way readers do, scrolling through her books, finding her newsletter, getting to know her as an author, all of it effortless and on-brand.

This is what author website design looks like when it actually fits the writer behind it.
If you have been putting off your site because you are not sure where to start, that is exactly what the Meet Cute call is for and you can book yours in my bio.

Ohh you forgot to post....

because same here....

Now, What happens to your author career if Instagram disappears tomorrow?

Not hypothetical. Twitter became X and changed everything overnight. Vine shut down completely. TikTok gets banned every few months in different countries.

If Instagram went away right now, would you still have a way to reach your readers?

Your follower count isn't yours. Your DMs aren't yours. Your content can be deleted, shadowbanned, or algorithm-buried without warning.

You're building your author platform on rented ground.

This is why your email list and your website are non-negotiable.

Your email list is the only audience you actually own. Your website is the only platform that can't be taken away by someone else's business decisions.

Social media is incredible for discovery and connection. But it can't be your only strategy.

If you don't have a professional author website that captures emails and sells books, you're one algorithm change away from starting over.

I said what I said...

Before you hand over your royalties to a website designer, you need to ask some hard questions.

Your hard work and heart put into your books as a romance author should be paid back accordingly when investing in a website or store.

Ready to work with a designer who only builds for romance authors and has actually been in your shoes? Book a meet cute at the link in our bio and let's chat.

Your Linktree is working harder than your actual website and that's a problem.

I see it all the time. Authors with a Linktree in bio that links to Amazon, Goodreads, Instagram, TikTok, their newsletter signup, and maybe a Patreon.

And buried somewhere in there is a link to a website they built three years ago that they're kind of embarrassed about.

Here's what's happening: You're sending readers everywhere except the one place you actually own.

Linktree is rented space. Amazon is rented space. Social media is rented space.

Your website is yours.

When a reader lands on your professional author website, they should be able to buy your books directly, join your email list, browse your series, and fall deeper into your world. All without leaving.

That's what converts casual readers into loyal fans who buy everything you write.

If your Linktree is doing more work than your website, we should talk. Link in bio to book a Meet Cute call.

Romance authors: your Amazon page is not your website. And if it's the only place readers can find you, you're one algorithm update away from losing everything you've built.

Here's the truth nobody wants to say out loud: Amazon can change its rules, tank your visibility, or remove your books at any time. You have zero control. Zero ownership. Zero direct relationship with your readers.

That's why smart romance authors are building their own corner of the internet, and it's not about leaving Amazon entirely. It's about not making it your only foundation.

A strategic author website gives you:

A direct sales storefront where you keep 90-95% of every sale
An email list you actually own (not followers that disappear when a platform dies)
A branded home base that works for dark romance, romantasy, contemporary, and every subgenre in between
A reader journey you control from first click to checkout
Your books deserve a home that belongs to you.

Read the full blog post on our website and find out exactly what a romance author website needs to actually convert readers into buyers.
