Like every young company, at the beginning of the choice of methodology, we did not immediately reach the “golden mean”. When there are few projects and they are not very complex, the planning format for several months was not relevant, so we actively used Trello and the Kanban framework. Only one team of several people was involved in the projects, and the tasks were more global.

Year by year we developed, the staff and the qualification of the teams increased, bigger and more complex projects started to arrive 🚀 At this stage, we realized that the usual Kanban cannot do. You need to look for a more flexible framework for project management. After analyzing the amount of work and workload of teams, we came to SCRUM😎

Yes, the introduction was quite difficult. But daily meetings, active work with teams paid off. The methodology was accepted by all teams “with a bang”, and the full transition took us 4 full months.
We didn’t just adopt SCRUM, we started adapting it, customizing it to our needs.

🧐 What did we get?

1. Clear planning of activities, which is divided into “sprints”, short intervals of 2 weeks, after which you can immediately see the progress of work.
2. Quality risk management — a properly constructed estimate system provides the understanding of the amount of time spent on a project or module, allowing anticipation of the real risks that may arise during development.
3. Distribution of workloads between teams — no one is torn between projects and various tasks. One team — one project, or one module. Seamless work of the team on the task, without undue distraction.
4. A well-established communication process is perhaps the most important component of the SCRUM methodology. Daily meetings help to quickly find out when problems arise, where and what to focus on, where to concentrate the efforts, how to distribute priorities in the work process.
