Elhamdoulilah j’ai fini juste à temps ces trois illustrations que j’avais mis de côté depuis presque une année maintenant 🤯 à croire qu’elles attendaient le bon moment pour être finies. SubhanAllah…

Elles me faisaient parfois coucou mais j’osais pas trop et je me demandais quoi illustrer exactement et surtout comment illustrer au mieux ces souvenirs qui me remplissent de nostalgie maintenant 🥲

Franchement ?

J’ai failli ne pas poster parce que je trouvais ça nul. Maiiiiis je me suis dit que c’était meme pas le sujet en fait.
Finalement j’ai fini par me dire que chacun apporte ce qu’il a et c’est le plus important.
Le plus important ce sont les petits efforts individuels pour un résultat collectif qui sera d’autant plus beau qu’on est nombreux à y participer.
Voici donc ma contribution à cette première édition du mois du patrimoine Nord Africain et Arabe.

There are so many things I want to get better at, it’s really overwhelming sometimes…

So I am trying to focus on one subject at a time for two months.

Improving my skills on how to combine types and layout is one of my current goals. It’s a skill that will definitely be useful for more impactful book covers inshaAllah 🤲🏻🤩

I really hesitated to post this. I wanted to test again and again other types and combinations. But I forced myself to publish anyway and get better at feeling uncomfortable and accept the idea that nothing is perfect 😅 that’s a skill too right ?

✨ One word. Three emotions.

Typography isn’t just a visual choice.

It’s your book’s tone of voice.

It can be soft, tense, or futuristic… but never neutral.

To give you an idea I chose the word « Infinity » and applied different typefaces.

Same word, three worlds:

❤️ Romance : softness and intimacy
🧬 Sci-Fi : energy and modernity
💀 Thriller : tension and mystery

👉 Every typeface tells a part of the story.
