Woke up early this morning, as I normally do.
I’m currently staying at Mum and Dad’s, looking after the dogs and my brother while they’re away.
So there I was, sitting in the living room of the family home I grew up in — the house Mum and Dad have had for 35 years — doom scrolling, watching random videos and doing a very good job of procrastinating 😂
And I just started thinking.
It’s been four years since I started Magic Marketing. Four years of trying to build something for myself, figuring things out as I go and somehow making it work.
Then, because apparently I don’t like an easy life, two weeks ago I started Hethel Print & Design with two friends 😂
There are definitely moments when I sit there and think… what the hell have I done?
Couldn’t I have just got myself a decent-paying 9–5, gone home at 5pm and switched off?
But that was never really me.
I’ve always wanted more. I’ve always wanted to build something for myself. Something nobody handed to me, created for me or simply paid me to do.
That comes with long hours, stress, early mornings, late nights and sometimes no sleep at all because something just needs to get done.
Looking around this house this morning, I found myself thinking, how the hell have I actually managed any of this?
Then you realise you didn’t do it completely on your own.
I’ve had people around me who pushed me to be better. People who supported me when things got tough, when life got in the way and when something felt impossible.
And looking back, it’s all been worth it.
Now we’re starting this next chapter with the print company, and seeing the support already has genuinely meant a lot.
People helping us out. Customers coming through the door. People who started as customers and became friends popping in just to say hello and have a nose around.
People showing up.
That means more than you probably realise.
You know who you are, and you know what you’ve done. Thank you.
Anyway… soppy early-morning message over
Just feeling grateful today, so I thought I’d share it.
Now I should probably stop procrastinating and actually get some work done
