Why delete an email you don't need? Because it saves energy.🍃

Humans spend a lot of time sending emails, and every email you send or receive takes up space in your email account.

The more emails you have, the more your computer has to work to display them, organize them, and find the ones you want. And that uses energy.

But it's not just about the amount of energy used by your computer. The process of deleting emails may seem like a foolish concern in the larger fight against climate change. But, when you look at the sheer amount of energy the internet consumes on a daily basis, it's clear that even small changes can have an impact.✨

One way to reduce this energy consumption is to simply delete email messages you don't need anymore. Processing and storing emails requires a lot of energy — both on your computer and the servers that send and receive your messages.

Count me in. It took me about an hour to delete hundreds of emails, this may be small, but this helps.

We, social media managers are glued to our computers for hours every day, concerns about the effects of all that radiation exposure are hardly surprising.

The truth is that no one really knows how much danger we're in — but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned.

The radiation from computers and laptops may not be as harmful as that from cell phones, but it can still cause some serious problems if you're exposed for long periods or at close range.

The most common includes:

👀Eye strain, blurred vision and dry eyes.

🤯Fatigue and migraines. Sitting in front of a screen all day can cause physical discomfort — especially in your wrists, neck and back — which leads to fatigue and migraines.

😫Insomnia. Computer radiation, particularly the blue light emitted by screens, has been linked to sleep disorders, including insomnia.

Even if you do not suffer from the above-mentioned symptoms, you should set some limits for yourself. Long hours in front of a computer screen can lead to physical and mental exhaustion and can cause a decline in your work performance.

A part of me has invested in and researched child protection online. In fact, it was one of the topics I chose for my college thesis. Though social media allows us to connect with friends and family, however, not all ages are allowed to use these sites.

✅ You should know that most social media platforms have a minimum age of 13.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires companies to get parental consent before invading the privacy of any child under the age of 13 on their website.

It is still possible for younger social media users to provide false birth dates when signing up for accounts. If you know anyone under the age of 13 who use social media, talk with them about the risks of sharing too much personal information and encourage them to only connect with people they know in person. Additionally, you can adjust the privacy settings to only approved contacts can view their profiles.

How often you post on social media can be a key factor in how much attention you receive, both from your audience and from the platforms themselves. 📲

When you post consistently, you’re more likely to increase brand awareness over time. You may have noticed this yourself – the more often you see a brand’s posts, the more familiar their content becomes.

Everyone’s brain is hardwired to notice patterns, and when we see the same thing (or variations of it) over and over again, our brains recognize those patterns as familiar. The more we recognize something as familiar, the more likely we are to trust it.

As a social media manager, most of my clients' content is scheduled. I schedule Tweets, Instagram and Facebook posts. I don't want to wake up in the morning and have to start writing right away. But if I have to, I can.

I was too busy to finish a project that this morning, I forgot to schedule my own content for the day. Yes, me. The person who writes about scheduling your post ahead. And while I'm not proud of forgetting to do it today, it did reinforce something very important:

It got me thinking about what you should do if it happens to you. How do you deal with missed schedules? 🤔

You need to keep writing and publishing content no matter what happens in your life or business! Write as soon as possible. As soon as you miss a schedule, it’s better to write right away than waiting till the last minute. ⌛
