We didn’t take home the win at the Australian Small Business Champion Awards this year… but we stood as finalists in a room full of brilliant humans running brilliant businesses.

Because this is what business really looks like right now.

It’s not easy. It’s not polished. It’s not perfect.
It’s showing up every single day, making decisions, carrying pressure, backing your team, supporting your clients… even when life outside of work is throwing everything at you in a damn challenging economy.

As business owners, we fall down, and we get straight back up. We celebrate the wins, we learn from the fails and we slog our guts out even on days when it feels impossible. Sitting in that room on Friday night felt electric and it was an absolute privilege to be there surrounded by hard working driven beautiful people that are the heart and soul of Australian business.

That’s what we saw in that room.
And that’s what we’re proud to be part of.

On the night, we were lucky enough to sit alongside some absolute legends in business.

Go give them a follow and show your support: Beyond The Logo Cremations Only BLOOMY DAYS

To all deserving finalists...huge congratulations!!

To our clients, our team, and everyone who backs The Ripe Idea… thank you. This recognition is yours as much as it is ours.

We will be back next year, bigger, stronger, better.

Excited to share this one…Our junior marketer Capucine has just written her first “What We Think” piece… and it’s a perspective a lot of businesses need right now.

Everyone's talking about AI and many marketers have feared being replaced BUT...AI is there to hold the ladder while we paint the mural. It's useful. It's efficient. But it's nothing without someone deciding what the mural is, and who it’s for. That's where strategy, story, and genuine creativity come in. AI can scale content, but only humans can shape meaning, and only informed humans can shape it well.

Worth a read if you're thinking about where human creativity fits in an automated world.

Most marketing looks busy.
Very little of it is actually effective.

We see it every day…
Businesses doing all the things but still wondering why enquiries are inconsistent.

Because marketing isn’t about volume.
It’s about strategy, structure and knowing what actually drives revenue.

That’s what we do.

We step in as your outsourced marketing team and make sure every piece of activity has a purpose.

No fluff.
No wasted spend.
No “just post more” advice. You don’t need another marketing agency.

You need a team that actually understands how to grow a business.

We’re not here to just post on your socials.
We’re here to build your strategy, shape your content and help define where your brand is going next.

Because real marketing doesn’t just get seen.
It gets felt.

It connects.
It builds trust.
It turns attention into action.

If your marketing feels disconnected, inconsistent or just… not working, it’s time to do things differently.

Stop watching. Start building.

✨ Big news from The Ripe Idea ✨

We’re incredibly proud to share that The Ripe Idea has been selected as a Finalist in the 2026 Australian Small Business Champion Awards in the Marketing category.

What started just four years ago as a bold idea has grown into a thriving marketing agency working with incredible businesses across Australia. Being recognised at a national level like this is something we are genuinely proud of.

On 1 May our small but mighty local team will be heading to The Star in Sydney to represent The Ripe Idea at the awards night and celebrate alongside some of Australia’s best small businesses.

Moments like this remind us how lucky we are to do what we do every day. Helping our clients build brands, launch ideas and grow their businesses is what drives everything we do.

To our amazing clients, partners and supporters, thank you for trusting us with your businesses and being part of our journey.

No matter what happens on the night, being named a finalist already feels like a win.

We can’t wait to celebrate with the best of Australian small business.

Some projects remind you exactly why strategy matters.

We are currently working with a long-term client to launch his new venture.

Our client has spent years inside the food service industry, working closely with commercial kitchens across hospitality, aged care, education and large-scale operations. He saw the same challenge again and again. Kitchens juggling too many suppliers, too many systems and too much complexity, with no single partner helping them see the bigger operational picture.

The business idea itself was clear. One experienced consultant connecting venues with the best suppliers, platforms and systems to make kitchens run better, more efficiently and more profitably.

From a marketing perspective, that kind of clarity is the dream.

The next step was naming it.

We brainstormed a wide range of possible names, explored multiple directions and ideas, but in the end we only sent our client one.

OnePan.

Because it just made sense.

One visit.
One trusted partner.
One pan of solutions for a commercial kitchen.

A pan is also the universal symbol of every kitchen in the world. From pubs to hospitals, hotels to aged care facilities, everything begins with a pan.

When our client saw the name, he immediately loved it. And then he shared something none of us expected.

In his shed was a pan that had been passed down through his family. From his grandmother, and before her, from her mother. A pan that had seen decades of cooking, kitchens, meals and service.

Seasoned by years of experience.

That story became the foundation of the brand.

It inspired the tagline:

Seasoned by Experience. Focused on Serving Results.

Which, in many ways, perfectly captures our clients own journey in the industry too.

From there, the brand built itself. The strategy was clear. The story was human. The positioning was obvious.

For marketers, that’s the sweet spot.

A business with a real solution to an industry problem.
A name that makes instant sense.
A story that gives the brand meaning.
And a visual identity built to scale.

Everything about OnePan was designed to be simple, memorable and strong enough to grow into a serious business asset over time.

Because the best brands aren’t complicated.

They’re clear.

This is exactly the kind of work we love doing at The Ripe Idea. Helping businesses find the name, story and strategy that makes everything else easier to build.

Sometimes the right name isn’t hidden in a list of fifty options.

Sometimes it’s just the one that makes perfect sense.

OnePan.

At The Ripe Idea, many of our clients become far more than just clients. They become trusted partners and, over time, genuine friends.

It is something we are incredibly grateful for.

Over the years, a number of business leaders have taken The Ripe Idea with them as they move into new roles, companies and ventures, trusting us to support their brands again and again. Others entrust us with multiple businesses at the same time, knowing we understand their goals and how their brands (and brains) operate.

Willem is a great example of this. As an experienced sales manager across several NSW businesses, having the right marketing partner behind the scenes helps make his job easier and ensures the brands he represents are positioned for success.

When clients continue to bring us into new opportunities, it is the greatest compliment we could receive and speaks louder than any pitch could.

Thank you Willem for the continued trust.

Welcome to the team, Capucine!

We’re excited to introduce Capucine Piat, who has joined The Ripe Idea as our newest intern from the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) in Manly.

Originally from the beautiful island of Mauritius, Capucine brings a global perspective and a genuine passion for marketing that centres around understanding people, building meaningful connections and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

At The Ripe Idea, we’re big believers in nurturing emerging talent and giving the next generation of marketers real world experience across strategy, creative, digital and brand.

Capucine has already hit the ground running and we’re looking forward to seeing her energy, curiosity and creativity come to life across the projects she’ll be working on with us.

Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to the team.

If you’ve got a B2B sales team out on the road, what happens after they walk out of the meeting?

No leave-behind = no reminder.
No reminder = no recall.
No recall = no sale.

Your team needs smart, strategic collateral they can drop with prospects that clearly summarises who you are, what you do, and why you’re worth choosing.

That’s where we come in.

At The Ripe Idea, we don’t just “design a flyer.” We work with you to decide what your sales team actually needs in the field; capability statements, service brochures, tender-ready docs, or high-impact leave-behinds that keep working long after the meeting ends.

For one of our clients in the safety and procurement space, we created a sharp, double-sided A4 leave-behind that clearly articulated their offering, audience and point of difference. The result? A sales tool that reinforces credibility, supports conversations, and keeps their brand front of mind after the rep has left the room.

Because great sales collateral doesn’t just look good. It sells when you’re not in the room.

If your team is out winning business, let’s make sure they’re backed by materials that work just as hard as they do.

We don’t sell CRMs.
We make them work.

Not all of our work is sexy enough for Instagram.

Sometimes it’s not a logo, a colour palette or a shiny new website.
Sometimes it’s deeply strategic, slightly nerdy, very technical work that doesn’t photograph well but completely changes how a business operates.

That’s exactly the kind of work behind this carousel.

CRM strategy and setup isn’t glamorous, but when it’s done properly, it becomes one of the most powerful growth tools in a B2B business.

Recently, we led the CRM strategy and rebuild for The Supplies Mob. They’d been paying for a CRM that wasn’t set up properly and wasn’t being used to its full potential.

Once we stepped in, aligned marketing and sales, rebuilt the structure, segmented the database and trained the sales team, the CRM stopped being a “nice idea” and started doing what it’s meant to do.

We’ve broken this down in two ways:
– a practical article on what most businesses get wrong with CRMs
– a real-world case study showing how we fixed it

We’ve done a lot of CRM work over the years across industries like cooking oils, real estate, fresh produce and construction. Different sectors and platforms, same challenge: sales teams need systems that actually support growth.

If you’re considering a CRM, or already paying for one that feels clunky, confusing or underused, our latest article is well worth a read - https://theripeidea.com/whatwethink/need-a-crm. Or, reach out and have a conversation with us, we’ll help you get it set up properly from the start.
