The tags are still sitting there in your caption, but they've stopped doing anything for you. No extra reach, no extra discovery, nothing. Meta's algorithm has shifted toward how well your content actually connects, not how many tags you stack under it.
Here's the new playbook:
Quality over quantity. Use 3 to 5 tags that are actually specific to your content.
Caption SEO. Get your real keywords into the first two sentences, not buried at the bottom.
Signal over spam. One solid category tag plus one niche tag beats a wall of generic ones every time.
It's time to stop gaming the system and start giving it what it actually wants. Clarity.
