It is my absolute pleasure to work with UCL Computer Science's IXN team: Lunar 18's first project was in designing a digital honour badge for their students involved in the UCL IXN programme to be awarded for their hard work. An amazing industry projects programme where degree-level students use their passion for innovation; combined with the latest technology and access to great mentors, to help change the world.

Enjoying the sunshine ☀️ with an adapted negroni.

A friend and I found this adaption being the last 2 in a bar, desperate for a negroni but they didn’t have martini rosso 🙀 so we happily had them with dry vermouth instead and I’ve loved this cocktail ever since 🥰

25ml Gin (I used G’Vine)
25ml Campari
25ml Dry vermouth

Stir down and pour over ice, garnish how you like (I made a pink grapefruit rose).

Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Good Friday!

With a 4 day weekend where we can FINALLY meet 6 chums for some outdoor, socially distant fun; I thought I’d share 3 ales that pair nicely with any fish dishes you may be treating yourself to tonight.

Though I must say these ales are awesome for any occasion!

Spring is in full bloom!

So, I thought I’d share some of my favourite cocktails that are simple PERFECT for a lush spring day in the garden.

1. The Spring Buzz

I found this cocktail a while ago whilst perusing the internet and I have to say it was a gem of a find! This is my, slightly modified, version.

- 2/3 Cup of brewed Aloha Sleep Tea
- 2 tsps Honey (I use a floral honey)
- 50ml Whisky (I use Japanese, steer away from any peaty whiskies, they’ll over-power the cocktail)
- 17.5ml St, Germain
- 12.5ml Fresh lemon juice

Stir down and pour over ice, garnish how you like: I use a sprig of mint and a cinnamon stick for a contrasting kick!

For the original recipe see:

2. Coastal Orange Blossom

Another great find: using a Canadian gin: Sheringham Seaside Gin from Vancouver. The blog I found it on is a great read and I implore you to do so:

https://www.justinecelina.com/coastal-orange-blossom-gin-cocktail/

Here’s my take on this cocktail:

- 50ml Gin (if you can’t find this Vancouver treat then a nice floral gin will certainly do the job, I use G’Vine Floraison)
- 25ml Orange blossom water
- 50ml Freshly squeezed orange juice
- 100ml Coconut water

Shaky-shaky and pour over ice, garnish how you like: I use orange or lemon peel (spraying the cocktail with the oils from the lemon or orange).

3. This cocktail I’ve been making for YEARS and with pure joy in doing so. I adore sours cocktails, pisco especially! I found the original recipe way back in 2017 and here it is for those would like a good read into it:

https://www.mykitchenlove.com/rhubarb-pisco-sour/

And it’s as simple as it is for all sours cocktails: easy-peasey and far too tasty!

-75ml Pisco
-50ml Rhubard syrup (follow to blog above to see how you make your own - I highly recommend you do!)
-50ml Fresh lemon juice
-37.5ml Egg white (or from 1 egg)

Shaky-shaky nice and hard to get a nice texture from the egg white and pour into a pretty glass!

This cocktail I feel never needs a garnish but that’s mainly because I drink them so fast the garnish doesn’t get chance to do it’s thing!

What better way to end the first week of spring than with a refreshing Hugo?!

I picked up this delicious cocktail whilst living in Vienna. Now I can’t get enough of them!

3-4 pieces of lime, squeezed
A good handful of fresh mint
A slosh of elderflower cordial
Prosecco (or Champagne if you’re feeling decadent)
A dash of soda

Best with a reusable straw so you don’t get whacked in the nose with mint and lime every sip!

Food trucks are amongst my favourite places to eat out; they’re all unique with a punchy fun twist and offer deliciously tasty treats without all the faff.

They’re also a great booster to local economies and successful food trucks end up establishing amazing restaurants!

If you’re local to Sheffield, or ever visit after Covid: I HIGHLY recommend !

Plus Sheffield is the birthplace of the microbrewery so you’ll be a hop away from an amazing ale to wash it all down with.

It’s World Water Day!

A day to appreciate the water we so often take for granted when there are millions without it.

I appreciate my cube of clean ice in a smooth glass of Hibiki.

How are you appreciating yours today?

Here you are as promised: my favourite Martini!

50ml Gin
Splash (and I mean tiny splash) Extra Dry Vermouth
Stirred down and double strained into a chilled glass
De-brine the lemon peel
Spray the oils over the martini and lace the stem of the glass to give the fingers a fresh smell at every sip.

I’ll be sipping mine with some incredibly garlic-ey Moule Frites, they pair beautifully!

Happy Sunday everyone 🥰
