5 essential reasons why your business should have a good logo.
If global reputation and dominance in your sector aren't enough for you, consider the following and a logo is significant because it:
1. Reveals your identity
Remember when cowboys branded livestock in classic Westerns? They did it to establish ownership. Your logo should accomplish the same thing (minus the pain of a red hot branding iron). Your logo shows ownership when it is imprinted on your products, business cards, and website.
2. Invites new customers to get to know you
We do not live in a one-color world. People are lured to eye-catching design and color schemes. The logo on your packaging or on your storefront should be designed to spark the interest and curiosity of your potential clients, prompting them to at least look at, and hopefully purchase, your product.
3. Distinguishes you from the competition
Certain symbols have evolved to represent specific sectors or products. How many pizza joints, for example, have a logo that portrays an Italian, mustachioed cook wearing a tall white hat and a big grin? Maybe you're holding an outrageously large pizza? A good logo should reflect who you are while also distinguishing you from the competition.
4. Facilitates brand loyalty
A company's logo will be redesigned from time to time, perhaps to enhance its style or to reflect some other business development. This is something I understand as a marketer. As a customer, I despise it. When my favorite brands' logos change and I've grown accustomed to them, I feel deceived.
5. Can be everywhere
Placing your logo on all of your marketing, packaging, products, social media, website, and so on is a great method to continually showcase your brand and message, whether it's in the store, in your consumers' homes, online, or wherever else you want to be. If you've successfully coupled your brand messaging to your logo, everything you do and create becomes associated with the logo and the brand.
