My Gen X Jersey podcast is back, with a new season! What began as a story about addiction and grief became the path that led to my latest book.
In this episode I share stuff behind my most recent writing, and why I'm still willing to play the long game. I grew up believing that you did the work first. You wrote the book, recorded the album, built the business or learned the craft. Then, if the work was good enough, you found an audience.
Today, the order is reversed, they expect you to build an audience before you get support for your body of work. I still believe in the traditional publishing path and so Gen X Jersey is the place where the experiences ans observations that fueled the book can be told first.
Whether they make the book or stay as stories told only here remains to be seen.
