Spring is one of the best acquisition windows. It’s rarely used that way.

The focus is usually on reactivation and short-term revenue.

Acquisition gets deprioritized.

It works in the short term, but it limits long-term growth.

Acquisition is not a trade-off. It is a growth lever.

Choosing between digital and direct mail is the wrong question. The best campaigns do not treat channels as separate.

The conversation in nonprofit boardrooms is often framed as a channel decision. Digital? Mail? SMS?

But the highest-performing campaigns share one characteristic: a single donor behaviour model coordinates timing and messaging across every touchpoint.

The channel is the delivery mechanism. The strategy is the model behind it.
Organizations that frame this as a channel choice will always underperform those that frame it as a coordination problem.

How does your organization coordinate messaging across channels? Or is each running independently?

Charitable giving in Canada has been declining for over a decade. But that statistic is misleading.

Fewer Canadians are giving. Average gift sizes have not kept pace with inflation in most segments.

But the organizations with access to predictive modelling and Canada’s largest donor databases are not experiencing that decline. They are growing. Same market. Same period.

The decline is real. But it is concentrated in organizations still relying on intuition over data.

Is your organization feeling this decline? Or have you found ways to grow through it?

More channels won’t fix your growth.

Most fundraising programs run digital, mail, and phone separately,
each one doing its own thing.

And while each channel might perform…
the overall system doesn’t grow.

That’s the problem.

The nonprofits seeing real results are connecting everything.
So, every touchpoint works together to bring in and retain donors.

Because growth doesn’t come from adding more.
It comes from making it all work together.

Most donors from your spring appeal won’t give again.

Not because they don’t care
but because nothing brings them back.

The data already shows it.

The question is: what are you doing about it?

Most teams collect data.
Very few make better decisions because of it.

That’s why performance stalls, even when every channel looks “healthy.”

Your fundraising strategy has one channel. Your donors do not.

One of our clients acquired 25,600 new donors in twelve months at $1.20 per donor using coordinated multi-channel outreach. Digital, direct, and everything in between.

The gap between single-channel and multi-channel is not incremental. It is structural.

Most teams optimize for the wrong one.

Donations are transactions.
Donors are assets.

One scales. One stalls.
