A routine visit by Armed Constabulary Sergeant Patrick Kelly to the rugged Great Barrier Island turns into investigating a possible shipwreck. The shipwreck survivors include a prison escaper, and they murder a local and steal his boat. Later up in the Northern gumfields, Kelly recaptures the prison escaper, who is sent back to Auckland under police es**rt. Kelly finds himself alone closing in on a killer, who tries to turn the tables and make Kelly his next victim.
‘Sergeant Kelly’s Quest’, is a stand-alone sequel to the action packed ‘Sergeant Kelly’s Elephant’. The third book in this fast-paced series is well underway.
