It’s been a busy couple of months behind the scenes – we have been busy giving the Indie Books website a refresh and building a new feature…

Introducing the Indie Books online catalogue! We’re excited to launch this new feature so more Kiwi indie authors can be part of the Indie Books website.

The online catalogue will give us more ways to promote your books in our newsletter, and more ways for readers and buyers to use the Indie Books website to find your books.

The place buyers come to support Kiwi indie authors:
Each book listing has lots of information for both commercial buyers and book lovers – blurbs, specs and a range of quick links for more information. We want to make it easy for people to find you and your book online!

You’re in great company:
Indie Books showcases New Zealand independent authors – being part of the site and catalogue shows the range and quality of independent titles out there – a collective space for everyone.

Want more information on how to get your book listed? Head over to the Indie Books website for more details.

Helen Ellis, M.A. is an Auckland researcher, author, anthropologist, veteran of Distance Grandparenting and the Founder of DistanceFamilies.com.

Three of her four children and six of her seven grandchildren (15 months to 25 years) live 16 to 30 flight hours away in America, England and Scotland. In her research she asks the question: “How is distance familying for you?” Her book series combines her personal experiences with her extensive global research. Helen’s goal is to support each generation of Distance Families to understand ‘how it is’ for the other and pass on some ‘how to do it’ tips.

“Each generation’s perspective is distinct and deserves its own space to be heard.”

Helen’s third book in the Distance Families series “Being a Distance Grandchild” is now available.

A new book and new series from historical fiction author Vicky Adin!

Vicky’s new series is a side-step to her New Zealand based stories. “The Ancestors” will explore the lives of 19th century British women with tales of enduring love, bearing loss, and weathering life’s storms, inspired by her research.

“Sarah’s Destiny” is the first book in this new series – a heart-rending tale of enduring love.

Young Sarah Daniels is the heart, soul, and future of The White Hart Inn on the Welsh Back. Alongside the quay and wharves on Bristol’s floating harbour, she dreams of finding love, and a destiny where she escapes the drudgery and tragedy that life usually delivers Victorian women. But dreams are free, and few share her ideals. When reality strikes, and Sarah learns the hard way that life is unkind, one man offers her hope.

Through many decades of heart aching loss, false promises, and broken dreams, the young widow clings to that one hope. With six children to care for, she takes risks few others would consider. She breaks conventions and makes sacrifices to keep that hope alive.

Will her wishes come true, or is she destined to be another unfortunate in the sea of many?

Recent release from Denise Fitzpatrick is attracting amazing reviews….

“This book has been living in my head rent-free since I finished it. The Disorder is an emotionally charged, character-driven suspense novel about the slow unravelling of a marriage under the weight of mental illness, financial strain, and long-buried secrets—and it feels painfully real.” Stephanie via GoodReads

“An intricately woven and emotional plot which had me fooled all the way…. An absorbing and highly recommended story.” Robert via Goodreads

The Disorder - A family torn apart by secrets.
(Adult Fiction, Crime)

Dana Fairburn once had the perfect life, or so she thought. But now, nothing seems right – her husband, Vernon, is slipping away – his moods unpredictable, his actions baffling. When he is diagnosed with a condition he refuses to accept, her world begins to unravel.

Then Dana disappears without a trace. Did she simply want to escape a life on the brink of disaster, or is something darker at play? When the police investigation stalls, the family hires a private investigator in a desperate attempt to find her.

Set in Winton, a small town in the depths of New Zealand’s beautiful South Island, The Disorder is a thrilling emotional journey through family secrets, mental illness and a mother’s desperate search for freedom.
