Hello My Beautiful Souls ❤️ Forewarning: This is a long-ish post🤦♀️🤭😂
A week has passed since DisruptHR TT 3.0 at SoundForge, and I am still reminiscing about the energy of that evening.
The venue was packed, the sponsors and vendors showed up and showed out, the panel discussion was impactful, and the speakers challenged us to think differently about leadership, work, and the future of our workplaces.
And then there was our MC, Sunny Bling, showing up in a bespoke tangerine/ pumpkin colored suit that was unintentionally right on theme with my presentation. All the while, I was nervous as HELL. 😂
When I applied to speak at DisruptHR, it was never just about delivering a presentation, It was personal.
After some of the most challenging and emotionally draining months of completing my MBA earlier this year, I needed to prove something to myself.
I wanted to reclaim my confidence. I wanted to remind myself that I could deliver a message within a strict timeframe, bring my perspective, personality, expertise, and flair to a topic I am passionate about, and create impact.
And based on the feedback I received, I did exactly that. THE JOB WAS DONE.
Did I fumble a little? Absolutely. Did my nerves get the better of me at times? Of course. But my goal that evening wasn't perfection. My goal was courage, and courage showed up.
Being selected as the first speaker of the evening was enough to have my nerves doing somersaults. Yet, I got through it. I thank GOD for carrying me through every moment, especially the moments where I felt unsure of myself.

➡️The late-night rehearsals.
➡️The pep talks.
➡️The reassurance when self-doubt crept in.
➡️And the constant reminder that I was more ready than I believed.
DisruptHR 3.0 wasn't just another speaking engagement; it was a REMINDER.
A reminder that growth lives outside of comfort zones.
That our voices deserve space.
And that Executive Presence is certainly NOT a dress code.
It's Authenticity, Intention, and the Courage to Step Up, Show Out & Own your Presence.
