Ayios Lazaros (The Church of Saint Lazarus)

The Ayios Lazaro church, as it is locally known, stands over the tomb of Lazarus. Its remarkable architecture and intricate interior is a representation of Byzantine handiwork in Cyprus. Every year, the Church hosts a religious procession of the saint through Larnaca, eight days before Easter. There is also the Byzantine Museum, which is just 800 metres (2,625 feet) an eight-minute walk from the church.

Catacombs of St. Solomon (Paphos)
Travelers wondering what to visit in Cyprus have the opportunity to see one of the most unique Christian shrines - the Catacombs of St. Solomon. This is an ancient structure created partly by nature and partly by man. According to one belief, in ancient times there lived in Paphos a certain righteous Solomon, who refused to perform Roman rites and was forced to hide with his sons in the catacombs from persecutors.. According to one version, the pagans walled up all the passages in the catacombs, dooming the woman to a slow death, but 200 years later, when the passages in the catacombs were liberated, the holy martyr came out safe and sound. According to another version, the woman's sons were found after the escape and executed, and Solomon herself was left alive, and the unfortunate woman spent days and nights in tears over the graves of her sons, eventually dying of grief.
