Two months ago I left a nearly 6 figure a year job to start my own business.
Freaking nuts, right? How could I do that? Especially at a time like now in this post-pandemic world of so much uncertainty? And most especially because I am a single parent home and only have my income to rely on... what on the literal earth am I doing?
You know, I ask myself those same things every single day. And to be honest, I can't predict the future. I really *don't* know if this is going to work. I don't have any guarantees that I'll suddenly have enough to survive every month. I don't have any clue how this all works or even have many of my processes completely solidified. It's definitely a flying the plane while building it type of situation, and it's TERRIFYING.
BUT, what I *do* know is that this leap was the purest form of exercising courage and faith I could do right now. And you know what? I feel so good about that. I feel really strong internally to know that I'm out here giving this an honest effort and seeing what can happen. To know that years down the road I won't be asking 'what if?'
I'm learning that owning a business is one of the most major ways a person can grow as a human being. Owning a business forces you to test your limits, challenge your desires, and requires you to have a hope or prayer always at the tip of your tongue because you never know how things will play out the next month.
So yes, I am scared. I am worried. I am afraid of failing. But I'm out here trying. I want the growth. I want the change. I want to be more than I was.
