I WANT TO CRY, BUT Doesn't work out: 4 MAIN REASONS
Crying is a natural method laid down by nature to cope with internal tension, to live through pain and emotions, the expert notes. A small child cries with absolutely the whole body, while an adult often holds tears. If he yells, then only with his eyes.
Why is it difficult for adults to cry?
All of the accumulated internal bodily blocks
Qualitative crying is crying with absolutely the whole body. It starts in the tummy and exits through the larynx, causing tremors throughout the entire body. Shallow breathing, muscle tension, spasms in the diaphragmatic zone, and a throat block can interfere with this. And absolutely everyone has them, this is part of our growing up and character.
Due to conscious and unconscious beliefs that it is wrong to cry
Ancestors could not stand your tears and rushed to comfort you instantly, thereby not allowing you to cry. Or they condemned and denied your tears: the boys do not scream that you are like a nurse, that your grace is roaring, only weaklings cry. First, we hear these words from others that are important, and later they run to our inner voice, we say them to ourselves, forbidding tears.
Due to acquired stress and accumulated tension
If they accumulate over time, they violate our internal self-regulation, which is responsible for the alternation of excitation and inhibition. As a result, the body gets stuck in a state of tension and does not allow the body to sob.
Due to trauma and shock
If you feel danger, then the body activates survival mechanisms. On the physical level, it is difficult to cry on adrenaline and cortisol, and what if it comes out, these tears may not bring the desired relief.
