Advanced Welding was actually my very first job out of high school. I worked there for a year as a fabricator, then for a summer or two in college. They came to me recently for a full website overhaul, and it's live now!

I'm Matt. I live on a few acres in rural Idaho, mess with radios, and build websites for a living. For eight years that meant websites for anybody. Dentists, restaurants, whoever needed one.

But somewhere along the way my client list turned into gear makers, radio companies, fi****ms trainers, and cut and sew shops. People who make real things and would rather be making them than fighting with a website. I stopped pretending that was an accident.

So this is the flag in the ground: I build sites for tactical, outdoor, and maker brands. WordPress and WooCommerce, on hosting you control, because this crowd knows better than anyone what happens when a platform decides it doesn't like what you sell.

My latest SEO client has a great product catalog, but they weren't showing up in Google/Bing/DuckDuckGo very well (if at all). I did a deep dive, and came up with a plan to get their product sales going on search engines.

45 days later, and the results are extremely clear: Good SEO writing boosted their organic search sales by 3x, increased organic search revenue 67%, and bumped organic traffic up 35%.

Been building something a little different lately.

Cut/Count is a production app for cut & sew shops, the kind of tool that handles material costing, cut lists, and production tracking so you're not rebuilding the same spreadsheet every order.

Price your materials by the yard, inch, or each. See your true margin on every colorway. Track each piece from cutting to QC to done, right from your phone on the floor.

Still early, and I genuinely want input from people who do this work. If you run a cut & sew operation, DM me, I'd rather build this with real shops in mind than guess.

I'll be honest, the news that Google is changing how their search engine works caught me off guard. But after digging into it, the strategy for ranking in search engines is STILL just plain old SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Good SEO leads to good AI result ranking, and beyond. You can't rank well in AI search without good SEO. Plain and simple.

Any questions? It's a pretty dramatic change on paper, but SEO is still king.

Not everyone needs a whole new site, sometimes you just need to be patched up to rank in Google/DuckDuckGo/Bing (does anyone intentionally use Bing?) That's where SEO (Search Engine Optimization) comes in. Getting you ranked in Google for your industry keywords among your competitors is important, and even the coolest products won't do that without SEO.

I do everything from keyword research, competitor analysis (seeing what's working for them, and figured out where you fit in to the industry), and implementation. I'll go into your WooCommerce/Shopify store and make the changes, and confirm it's all good to go.

I love a good free tool, everything is expensive enough these days. Google Search Console is 100% free, Google Analytics is 100% free, Google PageSpeed Insights is 100% free, and Remove.BG is free unless you want to do batch edits or get the high res versions of the images (worth it, I pay for the premium Remove.BG and it's magic).
