👨‍🏫 Student of the game: It’s all about the majors…
Well we have just 3 majors to go. And this week I will close out on the last of the ladies before heading back to the final two men’s events.

⛳ The Evian Championship, the latest edition to the major rota.
It has gone through a gradual rise to major status, played at the spectacular Evian Resort GC in Evian-les-Bains in France overlooking Lake Geneva. The event started life in 1994 as a LET event, then in 2000 it took its first elevation as it was c-sanctioned as a LPGA event. Finally, in 2013, it took its final step receiving major status.

🌎 It is a truly International event with eight different nationalities producing winners in just 26 editions of the event, with the winners spanning from Europe; Asia; the America’s and Australia/New Zealand. As a major no player has won twice, with five different nationalities represented across the seven winners – South Korea have 3 winners! 🇰🇷

It is really still to fully establish itself with more history, but is good to see the majors stretching out further afield that just the US (and UK). I look forward to seeing players creating more historic moments that is what really elevates the majors above other regular events. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic one of only two of the nine majors cancelled (the other being the Men’s Open Championship).
