Integrating all marketing data into one environment
In every business, every marketer faces this issue on a daily basis. In order to cope with this issue, we thought we would share some of the questions/points of thought we ask ourselves.
Please see the following list as an ongoing list, and we will love to hear your thoughts on more points as part of this exercise please share them with us 🤓
So here we go:
1. One place to have seen the entire picture > We as marketers use many advertising channels, so having a way to see the complete picture without missing important details is always a huge challenge!
2. “Offline” “Online” Data > Centralizing data across all running silos, understanding that sometimes the entire picture is stretched farther than we thought.
3. ENTIRE USER ATTRIBUTES > To understand past activities and identify future trends and double down on what can work with some level of certainty. We need to be aware that there might be some "blind spots" we aren't tracking, that might be crucial to our decision-making, or that may explain a certain trend we need to embrace/change to scale up.
4. Privacy changing perspective > As cookieless environments become more prevalent, first-party data will become more vital. Utilizing our own data more extensively with collected audiences will be essential.
5. Technical Obstacles > Are all the pixels embedded? Do they all fire? Since when are all the conversions aligned and working? Are there any "blind spots" in how we track our activities? If so, how are you gonna fix them?
6. Usability of data > Is the data accessible to all team members on a daily/project basis? Do they know how to extract exactly what they need? On a team level, is there knowledge sharing?
7. Use of resources> Who's in charge of data collection (within your team)? How do you centralize data for active use of: Audience insights, Website/App development, Product growth, Automations, Nurturing, Remarketing, etc.? In terms of ROI/ROAS, are the current tools put to use are worth the money? Is your tool being used to its full potential?
8. Data Ownership > Do you use external tools to centralize the collected data? What steps are you taking to make sure there are no data breaches?
9. Clarity Of Data > How "Clean" is the collected data? The data channel source was able to collect data accurately enough? Were all relevant signals collected that could be used later? How often does the team "refresh"s their usage of database collections, so it will be able to reflect current user journey trends?
