Content, content, content. I’m sure you’ve all heard “content is king” or something similar but sometimes it’s easier said than done. How do you come up with content? Where do you find ideas and inspiration?
Here’s a few tips to kick-start your content creation.
🌵 Pinterest
Search your industry on Pinterest and make a board to save content ideas. Make a note of content that stands out to you — helpful tips, eye-catching facts, fun quotes or step-by-step how-tos.
🌵 YouTube
Search your industry on YouTube. Find a few videos that catch your attention. Build your content around that! Use the video title as inspiration to create an Instagram carousel, infographic or Twitter poll.
🌵 Twitter
Check what’s trending on Twitter. Is there a topic that’s relevant to your business or industry?
🌵 Saved tab on Instagram
Have a look through posts you have saved on Instagram. Can you create something similar relating to your business?
🌵 Posts with high engagement
Check your insights to see which of your posts have had the best engagement. Is there a common theme? There might be 2 or 3 types of content that have worked well. Alternate between them!
🌵 Calendar dates
Use Google to find a calendar of awareness days and celebrations. For example, National Children’s Day and British Tomato Fortnight in May. Are they relevant to your business? Remember to use any related hashtags to extend your reach.
Before you post, it’s good to think about your target audience. Will they be excited by the content?!
