👉 It’s not too late… for any of us! 👈

I’m wrapping up a special project that has been such a privilege to be a part of.

I was approached to help flesh out a vision for a business that has been in my client’s heart for decades. Literally, decades.

Between raising a family, working full time, studying and collecting advanced degrees, and amassing a ton of real life experience, she is finally going for it — post-retirement!

Up till now, I’ve mostly collaborated with women roughly my own age, so our worldviews and life stages overlapped in many ways.

But the wisdom and experience that goes hand in hand with this one just blows me away.

She‘s inspiring and teaching me about life and parenting. I’m helping her gain more confidence, figure out a way forward, and create an online presence for her work.

We all have our areas of expertise and interests. We all have so much to give. To those close to us, to the world, to ourselves. Let’s stop this BS self-talk about it being too late to do the awesome stuff we’ve always wanted to do.

3 signs you might be ready to make the leap into being your own boss:

・You’re experienced and have a good skillset (that you love) + a deep desire to help people with those skills. It’s something that really lights you up… and that is needed out there in the market.
・You’ve experienced a recent change in your career situation / are done with the 9-5 world and have been putting new puzzle pieces together about who you are and what you want to do with your time on earth
・You've felt a sneaky pull toward entrepreneurialism for a long time and you trust in your innate abilities to make it work

In my experience, there’s no such thing as being 100% ready. (For me, about 80% sure is really, really good). But I do believe in combining readiness with some added willingness!

In case you needed to hear it today: you already have everything inside of you need to succeed! The rest, you can learn :)

The concept of personal branding can seem complicated - I know this because for a long time I hardly understood what it was myself!

Many years later, I’ve got it broken down into a process. While everyone’s vision and goals are completely unique and based on their personality and their gifts, the patterns of what needs to be covered remain a constant.

Later this month I’ll be opening the doors to work together in a small group, and one of the things we’ll be working on is personal brand development.

This infographic is a good start! My hope is that it demystifies the process a little by seeing it visually.

Working with Alex felt like cheating at life. For reals. ⁠

We've been led to believe that working is supposed to be really hard. Unpleasant, even. But I laughed so much with Alex that my stomach hurt, and yet, we got so much done. It was truly bewildering that we could advance so much in her vision, and genuinely enjoy ourselves in the process. ⁠

What I'm seeing is a massive societal shift in how women want to make a living, redefine what work is to them, and find ways to offer their knowledge, skills & unique gifts to the world.

Often, that starts to take shape as deciding to sell services online - to an audience far beyond the confines of our hometowns - be it coaching, consulting, offering tangible services like design, writing, advertising, photography, or virtual assistance, just to name a few.

But I also see brilliant women with important work to do who are stalling on their ideas, nervous about the tech, and feeling like it's all too overwhelming. I wanna help people get over the bridge between what they do in real life and what they really WANT to be doing online.
