Eight years ago I joined a mastermind program that was supposed to be my opportunity to level up. There was an in-person component and I was so excited to show up.

I had paid serious money to be there. I came ready to work. I came ready to learn something that would actually move the needle.

The host stood up to deliver her keynote.

It was the same keynote, word for word, she had given the year before. She knew. She had not prepared anything new. She covered the whole thing with a single sentence designed to make her laziness sound like depth.

This is mindset work we all need to revisit.

That was the cover.

And here is the part I still think about. The room did not flinch. Women around me were leaning in. Some had pulled out their notes from the previous year and were comparing as she moved through the material. A good chunk of the room was nodding along. Treating it as new.

I sat there trying to understand what I was watching. And what I eventually understood is this. When you are hungry enough for an answer, you will accept it from whoever is the most confident person in the room. Even when the material is recycled. Even when the woman delivering it did not bother to prepare. Even when she has handed you a sentence designed to make her not caring sound like wisdom.

The only winner in that room was the woman at the front. The rest of us left with the same problems we walked in with. Nothing new was learned.

I had the strategy doc.

The launch plan. The email sequence. The offer suite.

I had done the work.

Three coaches in four years. Every course that promised to be the one that finally clicked. A business that looked right on paper and felt wrong every single morning.

I kept thinking I was one funnel away.

One rebrand away.

One better-optimized landing page away.

So I'd rebuild. Get momentum. Hit a wall. Rebuild again.

Eight months of that loop. Maybe longer if I'm honest.

The worst part wasn't the money.

It was the conversation I kept having with myself at 11pm.

You know what you're doing. So why isn't it working.

A colleague sent me a link.

Breakup with Blueprint.

I almost ignored it.

I wasn't going through a breakup. I was running a business.

"That's the point," she said.

The book didn't hand me a new strategy.

Three other women nodded.

We talked for two hours. Nobody touched dessert.

I drove home the next day different than I arrived.

I'm still in it. Building. Some days clearer than others.

But I stopped rebuilding from scratch every time something didn't work.

That loop? It's not a strategy problem.

It's a blueprint problem.
