That's why you should take your branding seriously. Your branding is so important for your business.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since your logo is the first thing (or one of the first thing) that your potential customer will see, you have to make everything that is in your power to make the best first impression possible. If your logo brings negative feelings to your potential customer, if you're making a bad first impression : He/she will leave!

You also need a logo that stand out from the crowd. People are surrounded everyday by a lot of images, graphics, logos etc... A great logo is a logo that will make your business stand out from the crowd.

A mockup is a full-size model of a design or device, used for product presentations or other purposes.

On this carroussel, you can see mockups that I made for a client. I send it to every client who bought a logo. It shows how your logo will actually look in real life on different devices (T Shirts, Boxes, Mailers, Business Crads, Cosmetics Packagings...).

According to the logo, which brand would you buy from? Which one would you trust the most? The first one or the second one? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The second one right? That's what I'm saying, a professional logo conveys trust to your potential customer. If your logo brings negative feelings to your potential customers, they will not buy from you! Thta's why you should hire a graphic designer for your logo.

Comic Sans MS... a font hated by the graphic designer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This font was created in 1994 by a typographer named Vincent Connare for Microsoft. This font became very popular with the general public, and hated by the designer... so hated that Time Magazine put it among the 50 worst inventions of all time in 2010. Maybe because of its irregularity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyway, I used it in this logo because it is not for a client, I was just practicing on Illustrator focusing on the illustration so I was having fun with the font.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This logo is a lot inspired by (Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand) and also a logo that made a couple month ago.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I will close with a quote from Vincent Connare (the guy who invented Comic Sans Ms) : "If you love Comic Sans MS, you don't know much about typography. And if you hate it, you really don't know much about typography either and you should get another hobby".

Have you ever wondered "Why would I hire a logo designer when I can do it by myself"

Of course, if you don't have the budget for, you just don't have choice, you have to do it yourself. But your branding has to be taken seriously as soon as possible. So as your business is growing, you should invest in a graphic designer to design your brand. You will actually gain more money than loosing for the reasons above mentionned (unless you have some skills in graphic design).

Brand boards are easy to read documents that includes all the visual elements of your brand (Logo variations, colors, fonts...). This document should be shared with your web designer, printer... when you are working on a project.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Brand boards are usually created by the graphic designer who made your logo.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here's a list of everything I need if you want to get a logo from me. This is MY list, other graphic designers may ask for other elements.

Before asking for a logo, make sure you have prepared these elements :

Name of your brand
What type of logo ?
What are you selling ?
What colors ?
Who is your target audience ?
How would you define your brand ?
Examples of what you want ?
What fonts ?

Are you the type of person who doesn't give many details ? Or are you the one giving a lot (even too much) details ?
