NEW: States Family is out now! After some hard work to extend States, released in 2 proof-of-concept styles last year, to a range of 7 weights with italics for both subfamilies, States is now available in a family of 28 styles. As usual, check out our free trials to test States before you buy it ;)

Early sans serif typefaces came in contrasting flavours: from crude and loud designs for posters and advertisements to plain, no-frills jobbing type for small print. States is a synthesis of both extremes. A quintessential grotesque with a few surprises under its hood, released in two versions: States Grotesque and States Rounded. A selection of alternates turns the imperfection of physical printing into standout features, while celebrating grotesque eccentricities that undeservedly ended up in the dustbin of history. States is not a revival of a particular typeface, but a love letter to the past through today’s lens. A modern grotesque striking a mix of fun and functional.

Originally designed for GQ France magazine, Baton Nouveau is an elegant yet unpretentious grotesque, inspired by french vernacular typography and Art Nouveau. Available in two widths, the condensed font styles create stylish headlines, while the wider ones improve readability thanks to a taller x-height and looser spacing.

Baton Nouveau comes in 28 styles, with numerous alternates and OpenType features, an extensive character set covering Greek and Cyrillic-based languages, and a Variable Font included in the Complete Family package.

OUT NOW in a new GOODS section: Our first printed specimen in a long time presents States, Anton Koovit’s new typeface inspired by the crudeness and printing imperfections of early sans-serifs. In 16 black, white and neon-green pages, the two initial styles of States, Grotesque Medium and Rounded Medium, are displayed playfully in all ranges of sizes by our graphic designer .barbon

A generous selection of alternates turns the imperfection of physical printing into standout features, while celebrating grotesque eccentricities that undeservedly ended up in the dustbin of history. In the Variable font, both versions of States are connected through a “Pressure” axis.
