Several children are hospitalized as health officials look into a measles outbreak in the Columbus area of central Ohio. Out of the 18 cases under investigation, all cases are unvaccinated and 17 of the 18 are under the age of five. The outbreak has affected seven day cares and one school. CBS

Amendment 3 has been approved by Missouri voters according to unofficial election results, meaning adults 21 and older will be able to purchase recreational ma*****na from Missouri w**d dispensaries. A new study found that an 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction program is "as effective" as antidepressants. The FDA is meeting to review the accuracy of pulse oximeters for patients with darker skin as well as to discuss how the devices can be improved. Pulse oximeters estimates the amount of oxygen in your blood by sending a light through your finger which the other side of the device receives and uses it to detect the color of your blood. However, an oximeter may read people with darker skin to have regular oxygen levels when in fact they require additional care. Some recommendations to fix this issue is a new device to be used on people with darker skin or to include labels on the devices that will note the inaccurate readings. CNN

The hospital, like many others, are experiencing a shortage of healthcare providers while children and infants suffering from RSV overwhelm the ER.
