2025 was the year that I came back into my business full time. It's also the year I learned that how I've done business before isn't going to be the same moving forward. We learn, we grow, we find ways to make our businesses part of our lives -- not the whole thing.

I've always had a hard time picking a niche for my business, and I think it's because at the end of the day, I just want to serve good people who do good things.

Here are a few quick wins you can do today to make you feel like you're moving forward with things 🎉 Which one are you going to do?

- Asking for testimonials might be hard for some, but they're so important for your business, especially if you sell product. 93% of consumers say online reviews influenced their purchase decisions 💰 (And Google reviews help boost local business SEO so keep that in mind)

- Google LOVES valuable, original content -- and long-form options like blogs are a great way to not only improve SEO but also to position yourself as the expert you are and simplify your content creation. For example: You could turn your podcast episode into a transcript for your blog, and then create 3-5 clips of that episode for social posts, write a couple of emails from it and more

- Sometimes, we live inside of our own brains and businesses too much (whoops 🙋🏼‍♀️) -- which means we often miss out on making sure everyone understands what we *actually* do. FAQs eliminate objections, help with self-qualifying (if your product or service is or is not for someone), and position you as an expert. The best part? They are sales copy in disguise! That means if your FAQs are written strategically, they even boost your SEO. 🙌🏼

Taking time off was a horrible idea 🫣

At least that's what I had been telling myself, because that's what my subconscious would have said years ago when I was working 12+ hour days 7 days a week. Plus, I had just come back to this business full-time only one month before our planned honeymoon.

I (somewhat reluctantly) closed the laptop and immersed myself in the most amazing adventure I've been on to date: a nearly two week trip around Italy with the love of my life 🤍

Here's the best part -- my clients knew I was going to be offline, and even though I encouraged them to email me if they needed anything at all.... nobody emailed me until I got HOME. Then I had 9 emails on that Monday morning with some form of "welcome back!" in the email subject line 🥹

I came back with my "creative tank" full and ready, and on-boarded two new clients.

It just goes to show that the people who want to work with you and respect your time will not up and leave just because you're not online at all hours of the day. And your business will not burn down. As a business owner, no -- we don't get PTO hours -- but it's just as, if not more, important to take the time that we need to live life.

Old Meg would have worked the entire trip. She probably would have even postponed it all together. (Old Meg sucks tbh)

Life's short. Close the laptop and live a little! 🥂

And yes, this thread may strike a nerve for some... but at the end of the day, I want you to find confidence in yourself and trust your intuition and not rely on this tool for *quite literally* everything.

It can be a very useful! And I love it, really! In fact, don't be surprised if I show up here with prompts and questions you can ask your own 'GPT for specific things.

Just use it to help, not replace.
