LIzzy Moffett Designs Custom websites for coaches, creatives, and small business owners in the Denver area, built in two focused days. Based in Brighton, Colorado. Hi! I’m Lizzy!
(9)

Webflow, Squarespace, and Wix, with strategy and SEO built in. I guide the online presence of a small group of growing businesses. I build strategic websites quickly, then stay involved long-term so those sites never fall behind the business. Most of my clients come to me because they want a calm, trusted partner rather than a one-time project.

Today is National Work Like a Dog Day, which, honestly, sounds like most Tuesdays around here.
But here is what I keep coming back to. You work hard every single day to deliver for your clients. Your website should be working just as hard for you, even when you are not at your desk, even when you are asleep, even when you are finally taking a weekend off.
A great website does not just sit there looking pretty. It answers questions, builds trust, and moves people toward reaching out. All day. Every day. Without you having to do a thing.
Is yours doing that? If not, let's fix it!

I sat down with BoldJourney for an honest conversation about how I actually work. How I build a custom website in two focused days, why the human side of business is where I come alive, and the moment a client sees their finished site for the first time and realizes nothing got cut to hit the deadline. That part still feels a little like a magic trick.

It is live now. Take a look. (Link in comments)

You have probably heard someone say AI is about to make websites pointless. That Google will just answer everything and nobody will click through to your site again.

Here is what actually just happened.

Google rolled out a set of changes to how its AI results credit the websites they pull from. Instead of tucking sources at the bottom, it now puts the link right next to the answer, shows a preview of your page when someone hovers, and makes the business name easier to spot. In plain English, Google is working harder to send people back to the sites it learns from, not keep them.

Here is why that matters for you. The websites getting picked up are the ones that answer real questions clearly and obviously come from someone who knows their field. That is not a trick or a loophole. That is just a well-built, well-written site doing its job.

So no, AI is not making your website pointless. It is making a clear, genuinely helpful site worth more than ever.

If yours is not pulling its weight right now, that is fixable, and it is exactly the kind of thing I help small business owners sort out. Book a free Good Fit Call and we will talk through where you stand!

Some things are worth every penny.
A really good cheesecake. A really good website. Both take the right ingredients, a thoughtful process, and someone who knows what they are doing.
The difference is that a great website keeps working for you long after the last bite.
If you have been on the fence about investing in yours, National Cheesecake Day feels like a perfectly reasonable day to decide you are worth it.

Today the internet will be full of emojis. And honestly, fair enough.
But here is the thing about your website. It cannot communicate in emojis. It has to do the whole job with words, structure, and strategy. And most small business websites are not doing that job as well as they could.
If your website copy sounds like it was written in a rush, or worse, sounds like everyone else in your industry, that is worth fixing.
Words are doing a lot of work on your site. Make sure they are the right ones.

Some good news to share.
Lizzy Moffett Designs was voted Platinum in Web Design for CommunityVotes Thornton, and that is two years in a row now.

This one is meaningful because it comes straight from the community, from people who took the time to nominate and vote.
So if that was you, thank you.

Building websites for solopreneurs and small business owners around Colorado is my favorite kind of work, and it is a good feeling to know the folks here have noticed.

If your website has been sitting on your to-do list longer than you would like to admit, that is exactly what I help with. Book a free Good Fit Call whenever you are ready!

Some projects change how you see your own work. Building the new site for Beth Gustin was one of those.

Beth is a grief counselor in Westminster, Colorado, and her practice, Transitioning Through Change, helps people move through loss, trauma, and life's hardest transitions. Her old site lived on a platform that owned her layout and her colors, so she could never make it feel like hers. It had also gone stale, and Beth, who is totally blind and uses the JAWS screen reader, was hearing a site that repeated itself and buried what mattered.

We rebuilt the whole thing in Webflow from a blank page. A refreshed teal and purple palette, clear headings and short sections, her full blog library carried over, and a media page with her YouTube videos and the Wellness Wednesday podcast.

The reveal happened over the phone. I listened as JAWS read her new site back to her for the first time, and when it reached the footer and announced each social link by name, Beth said, "I like how you labeled these. So many sites just have link, link, link." That one sentence is going to shape how I build websites for a long time.

Transitioning Through Change is live, and Beth says it already feels much clearer than the site she was ready to leave behind.

Congratulations, Beth. This one meant a lot.

There is a specific kind of tired that only new parents know. The 2am kind, when you are searching for anything that might help your baby settle, and yourself along with them.

Sarah wanted to be what that parent finds. She is a licensed pediatric occupational therapist with more than a decade of experience, and she was ready to launch something of her own: infant massage classes for families in Colorado Springs, Monument, and Castle Rock, under her new business Leaps and Bounds Therapy and Wellness. She had the certification and the heart for it. What she did not have yet was an online home.

We built her a small, focused site in Wix in a single build day. Keeping it intentionally simple is what makes a one-day build work. One clear page: what infant massage is, who the classes are for, and how to reach Sarah, wrapped in soft, baby-friendly colors that still read as professional. I recolored her logo to match and sourced licensed photos of families of every background.

Her words after the reveal: she loved it even more than she had pictured. That is the whole goal.

Congratulations, Sarah. Leaps and Bounds Therapy and Wellness is officially online, and it is built to grow right alongside you.

Can I tell you something I hear a lot?
"I have been meaning to deal with my website for months."
I hear it at networking events. I hear it on discovery calls. I hear it from business owners who are genuinely good at what they do and have just been too busy running their business to fix the thing that is supposed to bring them more business.
Summer is actually one of the smartest times to tackle it.
Things tend to slow down just enough to breathe. You have a little more mental space. And if you get it done now your site is ready and working for you heading into fall, which is when things pick back up for most small businesses.
Here is what the timeline looks like. We have a free 20-minute call to make sure we are a good fit. If we are, I send a proposal within 48 hours. Once you sign and your deposit is in, we pick your build dates. Two focused days later you have a website that actually reflects the business you have built.
Builds are booking out 3 to 6 weeks so if fall is your target, now is the right time to start the conversation.

Every great client relationship starts with a first impression.
In person that might be a handshake, a smile, the way you carry yourself into a room. Online it is your website. It is the first thing a potential client sees before they ever meet you, before they know how good you are at what you do, before they have any reason to trust you.
Your website is your handshake. Make sure it is a confident one.
If yours could use some work, I would love to help. Link in Captions
