Post Text: 🍽️ Recipe of the Week: Jollof Rice! 🍽️
Get ready to spice up your week with one of Ghana's most beloved dishes—Jollof Rice! 🎉
Ingredients:
3 cups of long-grain rice
1 cup of vegetable oil
2 large onion (chopped)
1 bell peppers (red and green)
4 Habanero pepper
Thumb-sized ginger
4 tomatoes (blended)
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
2 teaspoons of thyme
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon of curry
1 cube of chicken bouillon
Salt and pepper to taste
Pair with (optional): chicken, shrimp, or veggies
Instructions:
-In a large pot, heat the oil and sauté half chopped onions until golden.
-Add in your tomatoes paste.
-Add the blended tomatoes, bell peppers, thyme, onions, ginger and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
-Add in chicken bouillon, curry, bay leaf and salt to taste.
-Stir in the rice and add 4 cups of water. Cover and let it cook on low heat until the rice is fluffy.
-Serve with your choice of protein or vegetables. Enjoy! 🍛
