As I continue working through the , Day 3 has me focusing on my relationship with money (which, I’m afraid, is already something I think about far too often).
Usually when money is on my mind I’m either really excited because I just got paid, or I’m upset because I spent my check waaay too fast and feel like I’m spending day after day wishing I had more of it.
I’ve always been obsessed with and focused on money. Some might say it’s because I’m a Capricorn, which is only partly true, but it’s also just because I do enjoy working. And I enjoy making money while I do it.
However, I never really paid enough attention to how my choices and my energy influence the money I earn, receive, and spend.
made a great point when she said, “Money is a relationship you have with the energy of $, the energy of abundance, the energy of wealth, and the energy of self, and how they all interact together.”
I need to start seeing my relationship with money the way I do my relationship with my money tree. This tree was gifted to me by a friend last summer around the time I began my current job. I took it to my office and have been caring for it and watching it grow since. I’ve been nurturing my relationship with my money tree. I’ve seen it lose leaves and grow new ones. I’ve seen it’s branches get bigger and bolder. I’ve watered it and made sure it was getting the proper amount of sunlight. And, in turn, it keeps increasing in size and providing me with cleaner office air and a beautiful plant to stare at every day.
I must take the same care into my relationship with money. I have to nurture it and give it room to grow and encourage positive changes in my life. I have to understand that sometimes I may lose it by using it, but it’ll always come back to be in abundance. If I am intentional with money and take care of it when I have it, I don’t have to stress about it when it’s not around.
It can end up being a give-give relationship that will only encourage more giving in the process.
