Last year, asked me to digitalize a logo for .and.roux as a gift for Christmas, but I had this crazy idea of turning the logo into something edible and simple, so I thought of chocolate 😊 In a chocolate box with a bow, I displayed the variations of the logo and I must say that I love the middle one 💖 what do you think? 😄

Here is a throwback to my work before I attended college ☺️ It’s funny that I decided to pursue a graphic design degree in college regardless of not knowing what to do with it after. No plan, no safety net. I wonder on and even in my last year, I didn’t know what to do next. Looking back, I have already designed something that I want to do as a career without knowing, brand design. I am over the moon to finally have an answer that comes with a compass. By understanding more of myself, I learned more about my identity than I normally would. With that said, I hope that I can help small businesses recognize their identity and the message behind their brand✨

Bye 2020, it has been a really tough year. I graduated college without a graduation ceremony and was quite bitter about it. Couldn’t get any design job out there because of where I live, but this year made me realize that I can start up my design business, so I did while currently working full-time 😊 Which means I come home from work, and work part-time on the iOS aesthetics, IG content, and design related projects.

If you asked Lilly what are her plans for the next coming years, I can guarantee that I don’t have a plan except finding a job as a safety net. The tip from my life is to aim higher, know your worth and make goals for yourself 🙌🏻

Now that I put my small business out there, I was reached out to give business tips to another possible small business, offered a design part-time gig, and asked for a job from someone who was interested in my business.

2021 is here just in a few hours and I wish everyone a good start to a new year. Happy New year! Do something, be active, make plans, and most importantly stay safe 🤍✨

Merry Christmas everyone! ☺️🎄✨ Thank you so much for supporting me through this wild year and giving my small Etsy business so much love💖 If it weren’t for your support, I would have been working a full-time job still navigating my way into my design career, which I am still doing but I don’t feel as lost 😆 I know that this year has a lot of doubts, but don’t worry because you aren’t the only one 💖 We are not meant to be perfect, but we do what we can 🙌🏻✨

Revealing my new logo in action, animated with little twinkles that represents perfection and high-quality design ✨ I can’t stress enough about these two words: perfection & high-quality because I came across many people who wants a design for free or think that they can negotiate on my hard work. Some are thinking that I am meeting the wrong people, but I also own an Etsy shop, so it doesn’t get any easier to w**d out the good people 😆

The meaning behind each design elements:
🌙 - Night owl, I love to stay up and be creative
🌊 - Water is always in motion, going through hurdles
🏔 - Leveling up and growth
💎- Sadly there isn’t a crystal emoji, but I’ll take a diamond (: It means perfection ✨ and that is why I tend to use these 2 emojis a lot: 💖✨ because it connects with my brand and I want to express the love for what I am seeing and show support 😊

I have been procrastinating on my brand identity for a while but now it is finally here ✨ The day I reopened my Etsy shop, I had to get down my name visually and a decent banner on the shop. Knowing that I need an identity in the future, I constantly scrolled through Pinterest and came across a photo that I personally connected with. The picture is a sandy beach and it was near night time with a crescent moon to the side. “This picture is so me!” I said. I know that the crystals, moon, and waves that can also be interpreted as mountains are a lot of design elements, but I guess it gives me a lot more to work with 😆 Tune in tomorrow to find out what each design elements mean 💖😊

Before I have a passion for graphic design, I was into drawing on paper. I say that I am decent but I wasn’t the best drawer out there 🙈

Then, I took a graphic design class in high school and I never looked back at drawing. I pursued it as my career and through college projects, it’s all about combining pictures & text. How am I going to survive these projects when I am not good at photography? So I decided to illustrate 🖋 I know that photography is easier and less time consuming, but I guess I love to create everything from my literal fingers, illustrating with my fingers on a trackpad 😆

A while ago when I was in school, I was approached by a colleague to design a promo business card 🎨✨ As a result, her hairstylist business cards came out flawless ☺️ The goal is to keep it minimal and show hair in different colors, which I would love to include more skin tones as part of this small series of business cards. Unfortunately, it was a bit more pricey that these business cards need a cut over the head to insert the bobby pins so it probably wasn’t in my colleague’s budget to have another set designed 🙂
