The Lost Gardens of Heligan...
Jumpers from Kelsey Annes Creations

The lost gardens of heligan has many different events going on during the year such as Christmas, Halloween and summer.

There is a main car park where you don’t have to charge but you will have to pay to get into the gardens unless you have a yearly pass.

There is a main shop which sells lots of different natural gifts perfect for different family members.

There is also a cafe where you can go for lots of different food located at the front of the gardens, there is also a pizza oven and an ice cream shop which is currently shut as being painted.

There is lots of dog water bowls around the gardens, and stations where you can fill up a water bottle for them.

We came late in the day which was quieter as everything was closing.

Milo smelt so many different smells which is great for dogs.

There are lots of different walks you can go on, or you can go to just go to the main events which are usually located in the park.

You can’t let your dogs off the lead but there is a park which the dogs are allowed in with the children.

Here your children could make stuff and em toast marshmallows but during other times of the year they can meet Santa and see fairy’s.

Bodmin Beacon

Bodmin beacon has many different fields to let your dogs run around.

There is a main car park but not loads of space to park in it.

The main beacon is located in the middle of the first field, the path leads up to this, but you can go off this path to lead to lots of other different fields.

Here you can let your dogs run free in the rain, snow or sun.

Lots of different dog walkers come here on daily walks and if you come more often you tend to get to know about each other.

The great thing about this place is that you can go on a short walk or a really long walk, and you can come for a 5 minute run or spend the day in the field with the whole family.

The enchanted woods
Truro

This was great for the whole family.

We struggled finding a place to park as there isn’t a main car park and because of this we began on the wrong path but with help from the public found our way to the enchanted woods.

This woodland walk begins on a bike/walking track and leads you down into the woods, you are recommended to stay on the track and not go past the path.

There is a great river with lots of bridges so that you can see your dog playing in the river.

Milo especially loved playing in the river and then rolling in the mud.

There was loads of hidden fairy doors, and some of them even had stuff inside, the whole family loved finding these while on the dog walk.

I would recommend this walk if you have a dog and younger children, if you feel that you would like to go for a longer walk, you can carry on with the path at the end of the enchanted woods which leads you to another woods with rope swings and a tree house in.

I would recommend the fairy trail for anyone but the other woodland is very slippery and steep.

Strawberry Fields Lifton Farm Shop

Milo loved choosing his own pumpkin and capturing lots of different photos, the rest of the family also enjoyed the food and magic show.

There is a main car park which you don’t pay to park in, but if you wish to go to pumpkin picking there is a charge to get into the event and an extra charge per pumpkin depending on the size.

There is a main shop which sells homemade bakes and lots of sweet gifts.

There is also a cafe where you can go for a meal or an afternoon tea, dogs aren’t allowed in the cafe but there is lots of seating areas outside.

There is a couple dog water bowls around the farm but the cleaner ones are located near the cafe.

There is a small park where your children can run off but unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed off the lead.

At the pumpkin picking event there was a swing, tree, piano and much more you can take photos with your dog.

They have lots of different events here such as strawberry picking, sunflower and Christmas events.

Milo loved sunflower picking and seeing the animals

There is a main car park and an overflow if it is a busy day, you don’t have to charge for either of these which is a bonus.

There is a main shop which sells homemade bakes and vegetables and fruit.

There is also a cafe where you can go for a slice of cake or a main meal, dogs aren’t allowed in here either but there is plenty of outdoor seating.

There is lots of dog water bowls near each table but I would recommend bringing water with you if you are going to go on a walk around the sunflowers.

We came on a quieter day which was helpful as we could sit down and get many photos near the sunflowers.

Milo smelt so many different smells which is great for dogs.

There are lots of different walks you can go on, or you can go to just pick sunflowers.

You can’t let your dogs off the lead but there is a park which the dogs are allowed in with the children.

They have lots of different events here such as strawberry picking, sunflower and Easter events.

Padstow beach & harbour

Milo and the rest of the family enjoyed Padstow and it is one of our “go to” places to visit on a sunny or rainy day.

You can either park in the town or in the car park which has a small charge. If it’s the summer holidays I would recommend going earlier or parking in the main car park as it does get quite busy.

Lots of different shops, and the majority of them have a bowl of water outside the shops and some of them provide treats for your fur babies if you purchase something inside.

The beach is open to dogs all year round.

There is a smaller beach and larger beach but these both connect when the tide is out, just remember to check the tide times.

To get onto the smaller beach you follow a little path and go down a flight of stairs.

To get onto the bigger end of the beach you follow a long path which is so pretty and perfect for your dogs, there is a small cut off point where you can go down to the beach quicker but it is very rocky and steep, we tend to carry on walking which leads into a woodland path onto the beach.

Here your dogs can run on the beach and swim in the sea.

There is also a ferry trip onto rock beach which dogs are allowed on, it is a bit pricey but worth a round trip onto each beach.

If you don’t want to walk on a beach but you need to take your dog out, you can have a walk around the town which is great as most shops allow dogs or a walk around the coastal path and green which has stunning views.
